I did some experimenting and I think I might have found the solution to my problem. It had to do with selecting 'auto focus' as an option. That seemed to stop the popping when I did some test entries on the messenger.
I'll have to see if it works in a real chat situation.

Yay. I just had a really nice chat with Lisajane. Thanks you, Lisa !!!
However I must say, it would have been a whole lot easier if the chat screen hadn't been popping up and down. I had to keep minimizing one screen to get to the proper chat one, often in mid sentence. Very annoying.
Does anyone know what I might be doing wrong?
