Hello Devon, Well, I am not pre-menopausal, but I do get what you are talking about. Sometimes my heart beats so fast it is crazy and it just won't calm down! And it kinda skips beats and thumps and flutters. I find that cutting out chocolate and caffeine helped. Also doing things to help my anxiety stay lower helps too because theese symptoms are worse thehigher my anxiety is. So relaxation, exercise, breathing exercise all help a lot. I walk a lot. U sually an hour a day 5-7 days a week. I find it helps lower my physical tension by just so much.I find I have less heart flutters and thumps and less fast hearbeat since I do. So hang in there, this can get better. If it persists and it is freaking you out, have it checked out tho. I did and once I knew for sure I was ok, I felt a lot calmer and that helped too :P But that is just me :) Anyway, Just wanted to say that in my experience the exercise really does work :) -Diva

Devon, Walking is very beneficial to those with anxiety as it has been shown to help relieve symptoms. Here are a few more reasons to put on your sneakers: * Reduce the risk of coronary heart disease and stroke * Lower blood pressure * Reduce high cholesterol and improve blood lipid profile * Reduce body fat * Enhance mental well being by boosting mood * Increase bone density, hence helping to prevent osteoporosis * Reduce the risk of cancer of the colon * Reduce the risk of non insulin dependant diabetes * Help to control body weight * Help osteoarthritis * Help flexibility and co-ordination hence reducing the risk of falls Hope this helps to clarify. I went to doc, he didnt do any tests but said my heart sounded good when he listened. my heart feels like its jumping or flutters. He wants to put me on lexapro, says my adrenal glands are probably over-reacting to stress and affecting my heart. he says the palpitations are harmless. But they are scarey. i cut out caffiene as well. he also told me excersise or walk everyday. does anyone else get this fromt their doc? I am also pre-menepausal. My anxiety sky rocketed 7 years ago wen i had a partial hysterectomy, so i know hormones contribute.
