One successful technique that I have used in the past is to engage in some vigourous movement just before facing a stressful situation. This seems to release the tension and get the stuck energy moving. Congratulations on your successful tackling of this sticky situation.

Hello Wepp. I'm glad to hear you got through the presentation. Good going. You deserve some down time after that. I use to take Ativan twice daily (for about a year) but now am only using it occasionally,PRN. I was lucky that I didn't have any problems with withdrawl...basically one or two days of feeling funky and that was it. I have found getting off ADs much more problematic. However, it was doable and slow tapering was what worked for me. So just give yourself sufficient time to make the adjustment and you should be fine. :) All the best.

Wow. It was soooo stressful. I was on 1.5mg of lorazepam. Not good, considering I'm trying to get off of it. But at least the presentation went well. The execs were pleased with my work and impressed by it. I was SOOO anxious the whole time. I started to have a panic attack, but I just kinda stepped outside the situation for a few seconds, challenged these fears, found a bit of respite and returned my awareness to the task at hand. I pulled through, but it was very taxing! All I want to do now is go lay down.

Hiya Wepp, Sorry for the late reply. I figure your presentation is already over by now. I was wondering how it went and how your weekend was. Anyway, I am hoping for an update :) -Diva

Last week was terrible for me. My level of anxiety increased immensely over the week prior. I'm not sure why, and I'm still trying to figure it out. So when Friday came around, and at 3pm, I was informed that I'd be making a 1-hr presentation in front of all the highest company executives on this coming Monday at 11am, I panicked. I've been in a constant state of utter anxiety with this news. I've never had panic attacks on the weekends before, but this weekend, I am having them. I will not avoid the situation. I know I will do well, too. I'm just afraid of having a panic attack while standing there giving the presentation. Does anyone have any suggestions for calming myself down in preparation for this presentation?
