Charlie,

Your health should definitely come before money. If you found that the time off was beneficial, then that is all that matters. Money matters, but your health should come first. You've got the right attitude. Hang on to that positive outlook, enjoy your weekend, and let us know how you're doing.

Thanks for all the kind words and wisdom. I'm going to try my hardest to stay calm and relax, but i do feel guilty for missing work this week but i think it has really helped me to focus on me and i'm trying to take one step at a time. My psychiatrist told me to take time off work, but the boyfriend is worried about the money i'm losing out on, not my health!!! But i guess i just have to let it go and enjoy today and not to worry about yesterday, thanks again for being there for me you guys are the best hope everyone has a great weekend.

Hello Charlie,

I sure know how you are feeling right now. I guess we all do. I am glad that you are working on the program and that you came here for support. Please feel free to come vent here anytime!

For me I find that distraction helps. Any type of distraction. I also fnd that just accepting it, accepting that I feel bad and not fighting makes me feel better. I also find focusing on the present moment and just really being Present to myself is very helpful.
(I found this out reading a wonderful book by Eckhart Tolle called The power of Now). I find the others have also given you such great advice. Hang in there, it really does get better!

And remember: This too shall pass!

Charlie,

I'm sorry to hear that you aren't feeling your best. You have so much wonderful support here, and we are glad that you are coming here for help and support. Focus on what is positive in your life and on what makes you happy. Is there anything special that you like to do in your spare time?

Hi Charlie

It can be very hard. We all know and really do empathise with you. I can't stress enough how your progress will not be linear. At times you will feel like you are going backwards. I often feel this way. But in the longer term you are healing. It will pass. You have to believe that. Somebody once said: "It is always darkest before the dawn".

I am currently in a bad anxiety phase this last week but I can honestly say that it feels better than previous times. Every time you pass through a bad spell you come out better and better. And the bad times last for shorter periods and the lows aren't quite as low as previous times.

Please vent as much as you want to on these posts. We are listening and we care :)

Hey Charlie,
I may repeat what Joe says, but the best thing for me was to just let it be. Let it be a bad day and remember that tomorrow may or may not be different. And when it's a bad day, just vent it all on these forums and ask everyone to reaffirm things for you. You always have a chance in life. My old therapist told me that when you have a funnel full of marbles and you push down on it nothing will come out. But if you let it be then the marbles will all roll out, one after another.

Hey Charlie,

We'll all say what' wrong time and time again, so thank you for making us feel like we can give back from what we all take from!

I can only give personal advice, and what works for me.  When I'm in a complete stump, where nothing helps and everything seems to get worse, I go into a room by myself, or anywhere where I can be by myself.  Then I meditate.  Sit down, realize we already know the thoughts are making it worse, so sit, and think of nothing.  Every time a worry or even a thought, good or bad, comes to mind, stop, purposely fight back, challenge it.  Instead just let yourself feel whatever your feeling.  As bad as it may be, just let yourself feel it.  Then start the belly breathing, still maintaining the mindset that you will think nothing.  Only let yourself feel, whatever your feeling.  Keep with this until you don't need to fight back the thoughts, and can just feel.  How does your body feel, go into as much detail as possible, "I feel my hand trembling, heart thumping..." whatever details you feel inside.

Once you reach this point where you only feel, think of where you want to be, then let yourself imagine this place.  Remember it's your dream, you don't even need to be talking or anything, you can just picture yourself having fun, relaxing, whatever.  This is where my meditation gets interrupted and everyday life kicks in.  Doesn't solve the problem, but makes things bearable.
