SSegat, Thank you for sharing your story and support with us. There are many people within this support group that share the same questions and concerns as you.  We are all a group of individuals who support each other.

If you look to the left of the screen under "TOOLS" you will find many supportive tests.  These tests are not diagnostic tools and are not a replacement or substitute for a physician's advice. The purpose of these tests is to prepare you with information that you can present to your physician. When you're finished the test, you can either print your Final Report or email it directly to your doctor.

We also have developed a Panic Program.  This program is 12-weeks and involves the tools mentioned above.  Each session is based on the previous session, so we strongly advise that you work slowly through the program and not jump ahead.

These tests may or may not be for you but they are "free".  If you have any question or concerns with our “TOOLS”, you can contact us at support@paniccenter.net.  We are the Support Specialist for The Panic Center and are open to any questions or concerns you may have.

Have you research community clinics in your area? Often these centres have therapists available for you to talk to.   Please continue to post and let us know how you are doing.     Sarah, Health Educator

Hello Ssegat,

Well, I haven't had children so I cannot relate to that. But I totally relate to the feeling of thinking I will die! Totally! I used to be 45 pounds heavier, I used to be a smoker also. I would wake up coughing and felt winded all the time. I felt like the weight of my body would crush me. I had bad digestion and GERD. I caught every flu, infection on this side of the sun. And I had Panic Disorder (PD) on top of it! But it did not kill me. It didn't. I started the program here and it helped me get my PD under control. After, I felt better and had the strength to quit soking, loose 45 pounds and get back in shape! Now I definetely don'T feel like this will kill me. And trust me, if I can do this anyone can!Thee is nothing special or particularly strong about me. So hang in there, and remember: Panic attacks will not kill you. Your health will get better. You will get your anxiety under control. You will fix whatever it is you want to fix in your life and things will just get better! Mostly, This too shall pass!!!

Hi SSegat,

Welcome to the boards! We have parallel paths with this panic, mine has been 18 yrs now, I get fast heart rate, wildly spiking BP, short of breath, blah, blah. Anyway, we moved 4 months ago, in my husband's home that he inherited  with his sister. Thing is, we had been on our own, raising two kids since we were married in 1984. Now I'm sharing a house with his sister, whom never married and has lived here all her life. We moved because our youngest went to college, and it freed up money for him to attend. We have lost our privacy or the comfort we had as a family. This has gotten better, we are finally finding our own space separate from hers, she has helped me in some ways, that has helped in baby steps of my agoraphobia. So some good with the bad. I'm willing to due what I have too for my son's education. I have limited insurance with Medicare which is a joke, example one trip to the ER via ambulance is not covered, the EKG was deemed "preventive" and also not covered, excuse me but just what are the goals of having insurance -waiting for something catastrophic before they pay?

Anyway, in my years, I've learned it's new changes so I can identify what is triggering them to come back. Look at your changes in just the last few months, birth of a baby-a change to your body and your life (mine began one month after the birth of my son) , moving in with your Mom-a change. Lack of sleep will exacaberate your heart rate, and generally make your body tired and more prone to illness-add the bronchitis in there and ....do you see the pattern?

Hello all!!  I am new to the board here.  Definately not new to panic disorder.  I've had it for over 14 years now.  It comes and goes.  It's getting bad right now.  Right now my biggest fear is that I'm dying.  It's irrational, I know, but I can't seem to shake the icky feelings.  I just had a baby in April.  I love him to death!!  I've had reoccuring infections from the C-Section, I'm fat, I smoke, can't seem to stay awake for long, fast heartbeat, and I've had bronchitis the last two weeks.  Not sure which of those factors I think are going to kill me, but I'm just convinced it's coming.  I've been so out of control with having to give up our house and move in with my mother.  We have no steady income, no health insurance.  This is killing me.  Anyone ever feel like I do?  I just need to hear from someone.  Help!!
