Eat small meals but often! drink a bit, but often. And mostly be kind to yourself and hang in there!

I definitely understand what your going through.  Actually, you saying it made me realize I'm not at that point anymore, thank you for that!  But back on topic, it's another phase for you to overcome.  It is possible!  I know you think it isn't fair to your daughter or anyone else, and that you are bringing them all down with you, but remember it's not fair to give up either.  So don't!  The feelings you are feeling typically came for me when either I wasn't having the success I wanted, or I just wasn't trying enough (and by trying enough, I mean I didn't go outside my comfort zone).  Go back to the things that you can take on.  For instance, the foods you want to be able to eat.  Make up a plan, keep it realistic to avoid feeling the way you are now, and put this plan up as a reminder.  The rest is up to you...

thanks for the advice, i no eating well is good for you i just find it hard sometimes as when im hungry i dont no what i want to eat, and am scared that i will get a panic attack from eating so it just makes me not hungry.and then i get more run down, i dont no where these feelings have come from and nothing seems to help at the moment exspecially as i still have this major fear of dying and the worrying of what happens after and not being with my loved 1s and this is not going away. everything is just getting me down at the moment and nothing is making me happy anyomre and i hate myself for it, because i am bringing everyone down with me and its not fare on them and my daughter. i just dont no what to do, i cant think clearly and that is depressing in itself and obviously lacking food and water etc.. is not helping and my fiancee is tring his best but i just find it hard to take in what he is saying and more impossible whaat to do.arghhhhhh!!!!!!!i feel so crap

Hi Karla,   It is not surprising that your body feels so run down the day after a panic attack. The body is a wise machine and there are various chemicals and hormones that are released in episodes of high stress...........these cause the body to be in a state of depletion. This in turn affects your health and immune function.   The body needs time and the right nutrients to heal and repair. Sleeping, eating well and drinking lots of water are very important at this time. Also any medications you are on should be followed on a regular schedule.   Be kind to yourself and take a nap or a warm bath so that your body can calm down and heal. Add some epsom salts to the bath water...........this will take away the aches from your muscles.   Good luck,     Faryal, Health Educator

hey

i am finding that if i have a really bad panic atack at night i feel really disorientated the next day, very shaky and ill. not sure if i coming down with the flu im cold, shaky, very acheing exspecially around my neck area and feel very ill. but think the anxiety is having a massie part in this.

More tired, hungry and dehydrated does contribute for me to a sense of feeling badly. I am just careful about not getti ng there now. And if I am there, I remind myself not to beleive what the anxiety tells me and I move on with my day trying to remedy to what I can and remind myself that this will pass!

I still get that, Karla.  From my own experience, I know it's the anxiety talking now.  What I mean is, yes sleep deprivation, not eating or drinking enough can affect you, but the anxiety builds it up beyond what it really is.  Funny thing is, now that I'm at a better point to reflect, I see that many of the negative effects I originally thought were associated, were merely me adding on to it.  It can be difficult to understand, but the main point is that what you believe to be true, becomes true.
 
But I used to get attacks everyday and stay in a constant state of agoraphobia.  Better to have this every other day or once a week then every waking moment.  Damn, I'm so glad it's not every waking moment anymore...

When you think it's going to be a bad day, you should try challenging those negative thoughts!
Below are ten questions you may find helpful in challenging your anxious thoughts:

The following ten questions will help you to challenge any anxious thoughts. When you have an anxious thought, answer some of these 10 questions:

1. Is it "true"?
2. How do I know it’s true?
3. Is it 100% true? (remember something that is 75% or 99% true is  
    not 100% true)
4. What's the evidence for it being true?
5. What’s the evidence against it being true?
6. Has it ever happened before?
7. What's different now?
8. If it were true, how bad would it really be?
9. What's the worst thing that could happen?
10. If the worst thing happened, how bad would it really be?

does anyone find that when they are more tired or hungary, dehydrated. they are more panicky???

what do you all feel on the worst days when you wake up?? i feel very disorientated and tired and breathless and i just no its going to be a bad day?!! i get this every other day. do you think its phsychological? does any one else feel like this?
