You have mentioned in your post that you sometimes experience anxiety-provoking thoughts or fears. Have you explored session three on this site? It is titled 'Challenging Negativity' and contains useful information that you may find applicable. Try using the 10 questions to fight your negative thoughts during these times. Hopefully you will find this helpful.

ok well i have been trying to figure out what my fear is associaed with it all started when my dad died when i was 15 he was hit by a car.
it was such a sudden death that i was just too shocked for words i went through a meltdown i couldnt cry at the memorial which was wierd i have never had a prob crying but after he died i started using alot of drugs (mainly pills). one night when it all started i had taken to many pills and i just went numb from head to toe my heart was pounding i almost passed out they said i wasnt overdosing but haveing panic attacks. the only things i can think of that is associated with my obsessive thoughts of death is i have a fear of pills i have been clean of all drugs for years but i have recently got passed alot of that fear another is on newyears eve i am afraid the world will end i have p/a then , and last i have these thoughts about religion i was raised up as a christian and ever since i have had p/a i have had alot of doubts and fear of whats waiting for me on the otherside
its like i believe but i still have these uncontrolled thoughts about it that i try to ignore but my faith has sufferd greatly for it.

That is an excellent question. In terms of your fear of dying, can you think of anything that may be associated with this fear? For example, a fear of heights may be related to a fear of falling, and in turn a fear of dying. Like Ashley said, before you can change your thought patterns, you need to become aware of them.

ashley, thanks for the advice I REALLY FEEL ONE DAY I MIGHT FEEL NORMAL AGAIN TODAY I STARTED THE PROGRAM I WAS JUST READING IT AT FIRST BUT I AM GONNA USE IT IN MY EVERYDAY LIFE AND SEE HOW IT DOES. I LOOKED THROUGH THE COPING AND AVOIDENCE SECTION AND IM STILL A LITTLE UNSURE HOW TO EXPOSE MYSELF TO THE FEAR OF DYING ANY SUGGESTIONS I MEAN I CAN GO TO FUNERALS AND IM NERVOUSE BUT IT DOWSNT MAKE ME PANIC.

Before you can change your thought patterns you need to become aware of them.  If your thought patterns are very ingrained this can be difficult to do, but not impossible.  A good thing to try is a thought journal.  Write in it often marking down your anxiety level between 1-10, your mood (hungry, angry, tired etc) and your thoughts.  It is also useful to write in when you are panicking.  Write down what you are feeling and thinking.  Review the journal after a few weeks and see if you notice any patterns.  This would also be a good thing to share with your counselor.

THATS EXACTLY WHAT I DO WHENI HAVE ONE MY GILRFRIEND ALWAYS ASK ME WHAT MADE ME HAVE IT AND HONESTLY I DONT KNOW .MY DOCTOR ASK ME THAT AS WELL AND I JUST NEVER UNDERSTOOD WHAT MAKES ME DO IT. SOMETIMES I KNOW IM HAVEING THESE THOUGHTS AND THEN I KNOW WHY I HAD ONE. I HAVE BEEN READING THROUGH THE PROGRAM LIKE YOU SAID AND I HAVE FOUND ALOT OF HELPFUL TIPS BUT DO YOU HAVE ANY ADVICE ABOUT HOW TO CONTROL THESE THOUGHTS THAT I DONT KNOW IM HAVEING.

What you are feeling is very common.  The program will really help you address this.  The following is a small excerpt from the program:
Anxious thoughts are powerful because they become automatic. In fact, anxious thoughts can be so automatic that some people have trouble noticing them. When you ask panic sufferers: "What were you thinking about when you were anxious?" they often say: "Nothing." It’s only after they start to pay attention to what’s happening that they notice anything negative at all.

This is why it may take a few weeks to notice your specific anxious thoughts. You may have been thinking these thoughts for so long that they’re wired in.

If these thoughts seem automatic, you may not be paying attention to them. For example, when you’re sleeping you probably don’t notice the edge of the bed – and you probably don’t fall out of bed and onto the floor! Noticing your anxious thoughts is the first step to controlling them.
 
Start working through the program and let us know if you notice any changes.

Hiya James, yes i often have constant anxiety and think bout having a panic attack, i can be sat here normal then just get a thought about panic n next thing im in anxiety and its there all day, i know its all about posotive thinking but its hard to stop the negative thoughts coming through as they just seem to pop up out of no were, i just try and do anything else to keep my mind of it or think of things that can help me if i do have a panic attack, like i can go to neighbours houses or phone my mum ect that usually brings it down.
hope you find a way to stop your anxiety, i think the constant anxiety is as bad as the panic cos it last so much longer

FIRST OFF WHEN I AM NOT HAVEING PANIC ATTACKS I AM CONSTANTLY FEELING ANXIETY ABOUT HAVING ONE ITS ALWAYS ON MY MIND.2 WHEN I FEEL I AM HAVING A PANIC ATTACK AND TRY TO RELAX MY BODY AND BREATH IT MAKES ME WORSE. ANYONE ELSE FEEL THE SAME
