Bump - for new members just starting out.

I thought it would be great to share some small/big success or program members!

Does anyone else have anxiety going to the dentist or leaving the house?

Right of course. I have no trouble telling the doctor that I have a bad neck so why should I have trouble telling him I have anxiety. I think it's the thought of being thought mentally ill. Just silly really.

Hi Davit,

I to have had mouth surgery for my gums twice, the first was alot worse then the
second one, but I told the Doc that I had panic and anxiety and that he would
need to give me something because I didn't think I would be able to go through
with it, he said not a problem. It made the experience alot better. If I have to go
to the doc's or something similar I tell them up front that I have panic and anxiety
this way they know it isn't something they are doing wrong and they do seem
happy to be told. After all I would tell them if I had some other medical problem
right?!

I have to have some teeth surgically removed and when the dental surgeon asked about medical problems I told him I had an anxiety disorder. He said thank you it is good to know that ahead of time. I gathered that a lot of people are afraid to mention it which is just silly isn't it. Why suffer? Why confuse the dentist? Why make life harder?

Amazing Sweetbee!

Thanks so much for sharing!  Great that you had a good day!  How did it feel knowing that you can do all these things and not feel anxiety?

Hi All,

Just wanted to post that I had another successful trip to the dentist yesterday!
I have to go every 4 months and I alternate between two offices. I sometimes
have anxiety and most times have some form of anxiety while
I'm their so I have started to tell them when I get into the room that I'm a
big chicken and to go easy on me! It lets them no that I'm nervous and breaks the
ice so to speak. the gal I saw was new and she made me feel so comfortable
when I said that. I didn't have any panic and I thanked her for making the
visit so pleasant. I think that surprised her. I felt so good that I even walked across
the street after, to a ice cream store that my husband and I had been wanting to try
and didn't have any anxiety their either! It was a good day. I can tell that the program
and the confidence cd's are working for me. thanks for listening.
