You don't mean heating the outside of the window sill, do you? That outiside sill is cement so I'm not certain the temperature let the silicone cure, since it takes 24 hours according to the specs.
Building little successes really helps my fragile ego, but sometimes I have setbacks. Today I woke up with a sore throat and fatigue, dried out from the heating system, so I'll have to place the humidifier on a timer, if I keep forgetting to use it.
Hair dryer to warm the ledge to better than five degrees then cover the glued diverters with a plastic bag and a pillow to keep them from freezing. Warm again if necessary. Or wait till spring. Waiting gives you the opportunity to do something else.
Sunny uses my lathe, a scary tool. She uses my cordless drills also to put in screws. Why not hey, I bake.
I embraced the weather practically, by monitoring it for a home project.
Pigeons roosting on a window sill required additional "diverters" to be placed with a silicone gel, but I have to wait for a 5 degree temperature, so I'm looking at the temperatures differently.
Also, I'm getting some confidence as I handle a power tool, take measurements, and feel helpful.
I'm sorry the weather is a problem for you. I love it. Of course being a farmer I looked at it different. Now I'm just a gardener with a few acres of deer pasture. But I am dependent on the snow and rain to keep my ponds full. I'm retired too so I can work around it. So far there has only been one day we had to do without milk because it was too stormy to go out. Sat and watched the snow instead. I have to go to the doctor but here there is no long line up. I can usually get in the day I call or the next one.
Of course there is the fact that when I worked it was in the woods so I drove in a lot of bad weather. I guess I'm used to it.
Hi Ashley,
Like any fear, I avoid going out, which isn't great for GAD, and my social circle never gets started, and eventually my panic cycle gets triggered since I'll fear going to medical apppointments too and my health won't be as good.
Today I was hypervigilant as I took my aging parent out, but it seemed mild at 2 degrees, so I'm encouraged to do more, and build on this.
It reminds me of the saying "don't believe what you think".
I sure do, especially after I've gotten panic attacks/disorder. I remember I couldn't stand up after hearing a thunder when my disorder just started. I'm still scared but it's getting less, thank goodness. I don't drive anymore but I often worry about my family when the weather's bad and they're on the road.
I wonder if anyone out there fears weather when it changes suddenly for the worse? As I've aged, I'm driving less, and may be losing confidence.
On the other hand, I wonder if it's the drivers' carelessness I fear more(no winter tires or cleaned windshields or distracted while driving or not pacing themselves on slippery roads). Also, taking my parent outside isn't appealing either.
