Sorry to hear you're struggling with insomnia. It is very frustrating I'm sure - and it snowballs into your ability to function during the day.
Exercise helps improve sleep along with the other routines you listed. You could also try drinking a nice cup of camomile tea before bed (perhaps try this instead of a milky drink).
Members, what routines or habits do you have before bed to help you get a good night's sleep?
I hope that you are all well. First post in a few weeks. I just wondered if any of you have any tips on how to get a better nights sleep. I usually go to bed about 10.30pm and normally get to sleep ok, but then I am awake by 3am and awake for a couple of hours. I then go back to a really deep sleep and find it difficult to get up. I always find that things are worse in the middle of the night and I start to worry about work, my health and lack of money at the moment. I also had a very stressful day at work yesterday where I felt very anxious as I was constantly being interupted when I was trying to do other things. I am not sure how I managed not to snap at someone. This morning I woke up at 3 in a cold sweat feeling very shaky and I still feel a little on edge now. I am off to the gym soon so hope a good workout will help.
Just thought that I would point out that I do my PMR in the evening and have a milky drink, I also use lavender oil on the pillow. Any tips would be appreciated.
