Dealing with stress

for 11 år siden 0 11226 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
Hi Eles7,

I'm glad you posted; you don't have to go through this alone. Stress and fatigue can certainly trigger Panic. What coping strategies have you been using to help? The section on Relaxation Techniques might be helpful to you. Practicing these techniques throughout the day and when you are feeling particularly anxious could be helpful. Also, how far along are you in the program. The program can help desensitize you to some of the Panic symptoms you are experiencing working on that session may also be helpful.

If the vertigo is a new symptom you might want to go to the doctor to check it out just to be sure. It does sound like it is a result of the anxiety but it's always best to check in with a doctor first.

Keep posting. We're here to listen.

Hi Eles7, Im finding that prevention is better than dealing with finding a cure when things get out of hand. More specifically, I found I could sleep better with relaxation exercises at night, but without them, I really feel out of it.

Your welcome :)  I understand.  It was scary for my Mom too.  She felt much better when she found there was a simple solution to it.  Temporarily taking pills and then doing simple exercises to keep it from coming back.  I'm sure once the vertigo is under control, it will ease your anxiety and panic, having one less trigger for it :)  Please keep in touch.  It's good to hear from you again.

Thanks Shari,
I have considered going to the doctor because I have never had it before and it was a scary symptom. However in my paniced state I was too scared to go to the doctor for fear she would tell me the worst. I apprciate everyone's advice because I have been feeling really terrible and my panic has been at its worst. It helps to talk to people who can relate.

Hi eles7,

Vertigo can be a physical symptom also.  My Mom had it and went to her physician and they gave her one tiny pill that stops it. Also, she was given exercises to prevent it from coming back.  I'm happy to say she has never had a vertigo episode since.  I'd go to your doctor and at least rule it out, if you haven't already :)  Just to see if it's anxiety related or a physical problem.  I can't remember all of the details, but it's caused by something in the ear.

I haven't logged on in a while and I know I should do so more often. It seems that we only think about our panic when it veers its ugly head. I know for myself that lately I have been under a lot of pressure and feeling physically and mentally drained. This in turn has caused my panic to be at its worst. I have also developed new symptoms when I am having a panic attack. Normally I know when I am having a panic attack because I am familar with my symptoms. Lately however new symptoms such as vertigo have occured. I've dealt with panic my whole life and not many people understand it. I know this will pass, but getting there is the hard part.
