Is it supposed to get worse?

I've actually started to notice how much i think, period. It's a lot! Makes me feel a little crazy at times. I do have a psychologist, but can only see her every other week, so all of you are really helpful in between. Thanks for replying!

Hi Marjosa,

It's hard to say what exactly is "supposed" to happen for each individual as everyone is unique.

That's great news that you are starting to find your anxious thoughts - this is a very important first step. Being aware of these thoughts may make you think about them more so continuing to challenge these thoughts is important. Sometimes when going through the program you might become more aware of how your feeling and even start to focus on it more - could this be what is happening? If so, not a problem, keep working on the program and you will learn to control these thoughts.

Keep working on the program and continue to post and you will start to notice a positive change.

It's also important to note that some individuals prefer to go through a CBT program with a therapist. If you feel this might be helpful to you I encourage you to look into finding a therapist that can help you thought the process.

MJ

At first you just feel bad and then with the information here you know why. In that case yes it probably does get worse before it gets better. Knowing why it is happening and how hard you will have to work is pretty scary. You can't fix it if you don't know why it is broke. Once you know why, all that is left is putting in the time to fix it. Better than not knowing and guessing I'd say.
We are here to support you when it gets tough and when you seem to be going back. (it happens, just a bump in the road)

MJ,
Maybe like is like a huge onion, which we keep peeling, finding sometimes it's "worse" but later it's not.

You'll feel the empowerment, as others will say

I was having trouble finding my anxious thoughts, but I'm starting to see them now, and it feels like I'm getting worse. Is this one of those things that gets worse before it gets better, or am I doing something wrong. I'm on week 3, and using the worksheets.
