Yes that seems like it, I try to self-talk and assure myself i'm fine but sometimes my mind just doesn't want to believe it lol. Just going to have to keep up the work i'm sure it will get easier/better over time. Thanks for the tip - i'll have to try out the lemon balm tea. Thanks Ashley I'll give the exposure work a try today.
One of the essential features of Panic Disorder is that when people have it they are hyper-vigilant for changes in bodily sensations and when they notice a change in bodily sensations they hyper-focus on it, amplify it, and catastrophize about it. Any change in bodily feeling or sensation can become a focus of Panic Disorder. So, continue to work on the program and you will eventually overcome this. In fact, it looks like your in a perfect time to practice some exposure work. Challenge any negative or irrational thoughts you are with the ten questions the third session (challenging negativity). Also, follow session 4.
This could be one of two things. A core belief telling you that you are worse than you are, or just that anything out of your normal routine can stimulate panic. The latter is a normal occurrence just that those prone to attacks turn that normal anxiety into a panic attack.
Lemon Balm tea works for me when anxiety is making it hard to breath or hard to eat or any of the panic symptoms I get.
Lucky for me I never get a cold or the flu but not being able to breath properly is one problem I have.
Hello all,
My panic attacks seem to get worse when i'm sick, does this happen to anyone else?
I currently have a pretty bad cold and it effects the quality of my breathing and sometimes I feel like I can't breathe ( always the first symptom of my panic attacks ) Although I know it's just my sickness causing it I can't seem to reassure and calm myself as well as I usually can when I'm not sick.
