I'm pretty sensitive to drugs in the Opiate class, never taking more than minimum dose, even this summer when I had infection so bad. But antibiotics are different. I can take very large doses, sometimes three times Max and sometimes three at the same time so the anxiety side effect shows up in me more often. It is extremely annoying. There should have been a warning on the tramadol bottle. I have a high pain tolerance so I don't usually use anything but Tylenol.
My experience with Doctors is that they are more experienced with what they are prescribed for rather than the side effects and interactions. They tend to leave that to the Pharmacy. And of course it is acceptable to have side effects as long as the benefits outweigh the side effects. Worse yet is that Pharmacies fill out refills for drugs so you can take them for longer than you are supposed to. Sometimes with deadly consequences.

We all know not to drink with T3s but the effect is mild compared to Tramadol. Ten fold at least.

Ps. I don't know why I was prescribed Tramadol instead of Morphine. It is far more addictive.

That sounds really scary Davit!

Did you talk to your doctor about this? What did they say?

I have a new medication for a sinus infection. It doesn't cause panic attacks but it does cause a lot of agitation which would have turned into panic attacks years ago. Penicillins are pretty bad for me anxiety wise and I'm no allergic. This new one does keep me awake though.

Wow, that sounds pretty horrifying. I'm glad you are okay now, and did not have to go to the hospital. Nothing like this has ever happened to me, but when I started meds I looked online for others' experiences, and have seen some things like this. I saw them post about their meds giving severe panic attacks, but I have no experience with this.

I make good wine, smooth and not hard to drink. But I limit myself because it doesn't go with my meds. Yesterday I found one it goes very bad with. Tramadol, a common pain killer. My first bad panic attack in years. I don't have them.
I couldn't speak because I didn't know any words. They were gone. The only word I knew was Tylenol and I didn't know what it meant. It took hours to get my words back so I could talk. The panic though mild at this point lasted right through withdrawal. Very scary. You don't want to do this.  This was the minimal dose of Tramadol and about four ounces of wine, nothing really. Still I could have ended up in hospital.

Anyone else have this happen to them. I know some meds and some combinations can cause panic attacks but this was bad.

Davit.
