Quote of the Day Part Two

for 11 år siden 0 4027 logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo logo 0
We must be willing to let go of the life we have planned, so as to accept the life that is waiting for us." €” Author Joseph Campbell

When I read this, I couldn't grasp what it meant, since it was in the context of an article about caregiving.  What made confusing was that the author used an analogy to describe this, by saying you should let go of a steering wheel.

I thought this was irresponsible, and was more confused.

What helped was another quote "stop being what you were, and become what are", which essentially means be flexible and invite opportunities.

The only limits are, as always, those of vision.
- James Broughton

I thought of this as I looked on some old windows which weren't the best for mom's house.  The other quote that is meaningful to me is Arthur Ashe's "I'm doing the best that I can, with what I know, when I know more, I'll do better".

What more can I ask for of myself?

Davit,
What helps me remember is that I have a glove in my backseat, which I know keep for safekeeping, in case someone vexes me.  It's not something I might use, though, because I just don't do that sort of thing.

Hi Hugs,

I walked down to my mailbox and got the mail, without incident.

Thanks Davit,

I'm not going to let one bad apple spoil the bunch.  Besides I'm an orange :)

Shari,
I hear Crimestoppers is anonymous, and outside of N America too.  I'm not sure they look at traffic as much as the harsher crimes.

One member mentioned he carries a tube of grease, for door handles which might be connected to delinquent cars, and a glove. to place on an antenna.  He described a car that drove around once with the "finger" salute for the entire day, after vexing him.

People do not always see that we write as we wrote it. I had to read your first line twice because the word trying can mean two different things. I read it as negative the first time probably because I was thinking negative at the time. (tired and rushed)

Forums like the old Roman forum is a place to stand up and say, this is why you should do this. That is the only thing in common. I think I lecture too much on what I have seen works. But like that old Forum no one has to agree. I will support them no matter what they do. The bottom line is still what ever works for them. Even if I think they are on the wrong track. (is there a wrong track?) Panic disorders are so complex. CBT in name is so simple but there are so many ways to do it. Still any way of changing negative to positive puts a person on the right road.

I like My therapist because she really knows her stuff but there are those who don't like her. If she is holding your hand it is only to get your attention and start you on the right road. If you are wrong she won't agree with you to make you feel good and she will keep pointing you to the right road till you get it no matter how long it takes. It took me a while to see I was on the wrong road. I also had to do all the work. It didn't kill me. It must work since I have not seen her in ten months and to me I seem okay. I function.

Shari

Please don't let one idiot colour your world. There are just too many of them. It may though never happen again.

Thank you so much Shari! You made my day.

Yes, please don't take it personally. I like to think of people like that as a challenge. I try not to let them drag me down to their level emotionally - it can be a big challenge.

Hugs,

I think you and I should be in the Olympics, for synchronized posting ;)  When I check the various threads, your posts are there one step ahead of me :)

I do feel better Hugs; thank you.  He was going about sixty on a 40 mph road and there were cars following him going equally fast, so no license plate info.  George thought I should have reported it anyway, but I don't think the Police will do anything around here unless there is proof.  Plus, everyone has a redneck silver pick up truck, it would take years to find the offender. Sometimes I think it's better to let things go too, because pursing crazy people can just lead to more crazy actions by them to further take revenge on you.  That's how some of the people are around here.  It's nuts!

Cheer's to a better day!

Thanks Hugs, Your Friend Shari

Thanks for your understanding Ashley :)

I do need to feel sorry for him; he is a hurting person if he hurts others.  My daughter said I was just the random person he took his anger out on.  It's hard to remember that, because I am sensitive and I take things personally.  I'm working on getting thicker skinned.  It's hard when you're caught off guard and even when you're not, to be quite honest.  It's good to get it out, because if I hold it in, that's when anxiety can take root.  It's good to remember that.

I appreciate you Ashley - more than you know.

Shari,
I hope you feel better.

It may seem odd now, but years from now your view may change.  I was at the end of a road rage incident once, and the nut was out of control.  Looking back at it now, the passerby, just shook his head.

The problem with bullies, is that they operate under safe conditions.  Isn't that funny?  Not really, since if a clearly marked police vehicle was there, no bully would dare act that way, for fear of repercussions.

Maybe the bully missed his "playtime" that morning.  Too bad you didn't get his license plate number, since this behaviour is not acceptable to communities.  Even if you made a driver error, road rage is not acceptable.

This behaviour is risky, since everybody has cameras on their phones, starting with pre-teens.  These kids are so quick with them too.  Maybe his picture is on youtube already, and there's a wanted picture already as police vehicle technologies share his data.  Even unintentionally, tourists, businesses have cameras going for leisure and security.

Bullies beware...
