To much stress in my life right now!

Hi Bren,

My Mum goes in for surgery on her eyes tomorrow (the third one in three years) and we're not even worried. It's another road trip to Brisbane and we'll be back tomorrow night. Of course there are risks involved, as there is with any surgery, but her opthalmologist is amazing and we trust him :)

When she comes home, she'll still be my same old Mum and nothing will have changed except for she'll be one step closer to having eyes that don't bulge anymore. I find it helps to remember why the person is having the surgery in the first place and how much better things will be after the recovery. The doctors wouldn't be doing the surgery if they didn't think it would help.

I hope things start to get better for yourself and your family soon.
All the best,
Kaitie.

P.S. If you need to cry, then do it! Listen to some sad music, snuggle up under a blanket and let the tears flow. It may sound strange but it always helps me. Avoiding sadness never helps.

Hi Bren,

Sometimes when it rains, it seems like it pours.  I've had a miserable end of 2012 and beginning to this year, with aches and pains, and some neck thing going.   It just seems like too much, and the end of the world.

I'm just glad I have a health plan, and a decent chiropractor

I just hope you realize that it will pass, although it's easier to suggest to you, than for myself to believe some days

Hi Bren,

Sorry to hear about all the stree you have been under. You have been through a lot and you are still remaining so strong! Know we are always here to listen.

Have you been tryign relaxation techniques. Meditation or deep breathing right before sleeping and throughout the day can be helpful. Also, physical activity is great for relaxation, it acts as an outlet for nervous energy.

Please keep us updated on how you are doing.

Bren,

Wow, that is a lot of stress! Remember that it makes sense you will have a more difficult time coping with all those major things going on. (As I type that, I realize it's good advice for myself too during what has also been a very stressful and difficult month for me.)

I've found that it's important that no matter how busy you are you create some down time for yourself. Whether that's going for a walk, taking a long bath, reading a good book, watching a chick flick, or whatever, giving your body a break will just help you cope with everything else that much better. Make sure you get some "me" time doing something calming you love!

Also, let yourself cry if you need to. Your body probably needs to discharge some of that energy from all that stress. I know I tend to try and hold it in to "keep it all together" but that can just make the anxiety worse. You want to let the pure feelings out if you can - fear, anger,  etc.

You may want to talk to your doctor about possible side effects from Celexa just so you're clear with what's going on in your body.

Hang in there and keep working on those positive thoughts. It always takes the body time to recover - from surgery, from anxiety attacks, from stress. Keep us posted on how you're doing!

I have been doing good, but the last week has been hard for me,as i think i have been under way to much stress...
With my own surgery, and soon after my husband had surgery for a roatator tear,mt sister having surgery again, and my son getting married, and my husbands brother has been in the hospital for almost a month, waiting for knee replacment, and had that done friday...now,i am having bad dreams, can not sleep, crying feelings...iam a mess right now...i have been on a constant go,and very tired....I am going to try and take a nap this morning,as i woke up,as tho i had never slept due to tossing and turning, and dreams all night long..i am beginning to think, this could be my Celexa causing this too..anyway...trying to keep good thoughts..
