Congratulation, this is a giant step and you did it. Now if you replay all the good parts you will preload memory for the next anxious moment. This is part of changing thought patterns for the good. You are what you think, so keep thinking positive. Proud of you.
I tried to enjoy and distract myself. And when I did feel anxious or thought about the anxiety I tell myself that I can't be the master of my anxiety and that I just had a physical and it was okay so nothing to worry about.
I did go and had a great time! I felt anxious a few times but I used my coping skills to make them unimportant and it eventually passed. Had an awesome day. I now understand that everyone has anxiety. It's how you manage is what matters
It is normal that you would feel anxious about this when you have been feeling very stressed this last while. Going to an amusement part is stressful for anyone even if it is a positive type of stress. When addressing anxiety you have to do things in stride. You should be aiming to challenge yourself but not too much, too soon. If you feel the amusement park would be too much for you now then I would encourage you not to go. Plan on going only when you feel ready. I could be wrong but it sounds like you do want to go. Would you like to take on this challenge and see how you do? The choice is yours, you may want to take on a more manageable challenge today or you might want to just relax and take some time to recuperate from the work week.
Now I see you probably have already decided to go or not...so what did you decide to do? How did it go either way?
It is simply because you have a choice. Anxiety is making the choice and the choice is making anxiety. Catch 22.
You are right, before you would have just done it even if there was anxiety you don't remember.
You don't want to forget it you want to make it harmless so it doesn't matter if it is there or not. Then it can't sneak up on you and hurt you. So if you think you can do it then do it and be proud after and say "I won". This is very positive. And if you can't then say "I tried" This is positive too.
Since yesterday I've been real anxious. My kids want to go an amusement park today and I feel real anxious about it while before I never would of thought about anything but memories and fun with my kids!
I'm not sure what to do and why I feel this way?
Is exposing yourself and living your life normal like you didn't have anxiety the key to overcoming it and forgetting?
Dizziness can be a symptom of anxiety. I am posting with you in a few other threads too. Are you still feeling like you don`t know how to stop it? Or what's different now?
