Quote of the Day:
Having once decided to achieve a certain task, achieve it at all costs of tedium and distaste. The gain in self confidence of having accomplished a tiresome labor is immense.
- Thomas A. Bennett

Achieving this self-discipline has helped me gradually increase confidence in my personal life

Quote of the Day:
Every failure is a step to success.
- William Whewell

And  sometimes those steps are certainly very small

Quote of the Day:
Trust yourself. Create the kind of self that you will be happy to live with all your life. Make the most of yourself by fanning the tiny, inner sparks of possibility into flames of achievement.
- Foster C. Mcclellan

Like tiny seeds, these can form huge trees of success branching into places that we could never imagine!

Hi Hugs:   My Dad had a good saying "All things in moderation".  not original I think, but he used to say it a lot.  He figured he could eat anything and enjoy everything.  He lived to a good age in his 80's.  Yes, studies keep changing the way we used to think and do things.  The way we eat, have to weigh the pros and cons all the time.  Honestly, hard to keep up sometimes.  I think I'll do what Dad did and enjoy a little bit of everything that appeals to me.  There's some relief there.

Sunny,
One of my favourite quotes is from the former great basketball coach at UCLA, who said that "...practise doesn't make perfect, perfect practice makes perfect...".

That meant a lot to me then, since our basketball team at our high school was so successful.  If you practise driving poorly for example, you end up in an accident or causing one or hopefully, before it's too late, you get corrected by an enforcement officer(or good friend!!!).

Of course everybody hopes or thinks they're doing something the best way, and along comes a new diet or study or policy or discovery and then we go back to the original theory.

Do you like butter or margarine for example, since the marketing lobbies are so strong, that many of our "opinions" are really accepted marketing ploys?

I believe we never know the truth until we're in some celestial resort looking down on earth with awe and amusement and most importantly, relief.

Yes, like many things, practice makes perfect, in mind and body.  You weren't a good driver when you were learning, nor a good swimmer, nor a good cook, nor a good .... you get my idea.  Lots of things are better when they come around another time.  Just think of all you've learned from the first experience which you can apply to the second, or third try!  When you think about it, how do people become expert at anything if they don't practice a lot and keep trying.

Quote of the Day:
Not many people are willing to give failure a second opportunity. They fail once and it's all over. The bitter pill of failure is often more than most people can handle. If you're willing to accept failure and learn from it, if you're willing to consider failure as a blessing in disguise and bounce back, you've got the potential of harnessing one of the most powerful success forces.
- Joseph Sugarman

Creating postive memories propels us to victory.

Quote of the Day:
If you have tried to do something and failed, you are vastly better off than if you had tried to do nothing and succeeded. You must never regret what might have been. The past that did not happen is as hidden from us as the future we cannot see.
- Richard Martin Stern

Good motivation when you're struggling to get things done, or perfectionistic/procrastinating

Or they might point out what you are doing wrong. Some people do not take criticism well. These people do not get past where they are stuck because they can't and it isn't because there is not help but because they won't accept it. A person can not change if they don't want it. Even if they say they do. All the information in the world is worthless if a person doesn't reach out to use it.

Like the quote says "look inside" It is you and your fears holding you back. Go for broke, what is the worst that can happen. You could be better, much better.

Davit.

Quote of the Day:
If you want to take your mission in life to the next level, if you're stuck and you don't know how to rise, don't look outside yourself. Look inside. Don't let your fears keep you mired in the crowd. Abolish your fears and raise your commitment level to the point of no return, and I guarantee you that the Champion Within will burst forth to propel you toward victory.
- Bruce Jenner

Sometimes the good people around you might clue you into your hidden treasures
