Quote of the day

Davit,
I have some list I review on the first of each month about how I'm doing with myself...but I lost it since I'm too busy with caregiving...it's somewhere in this pile of  *+^@|=> stuff....

Now here is a quote I have to agree with. The storey of my life. And not just the anxiety, but it did have a role. When anxiety keeps you from doing the high paying jobs even though you qualify then you have to find another way to attain the things you want. And you learn to accept it takes time. A lot of time.
Like my therapy. Three years is a long time even though the first part of a year was the most important. And the last year or so was just for information. I'm an information junky. If you don't have oodles of money then information and theory become necessary to get around this obstacle. Not that being poor and working hard was any less satisfying than my brothers life with his high paying job and buckets of money. I have what I want. He doesn't.

Hugs, the hardest thing I had to do was to let go of some of the caring for others first so I could find some time for me. The stress and over work was wearing me out prematurely. I still care for others and help but now I balance it.

Quote of the Day:
You can do what you want to do, accomplish what you want to accomplish, attain any reasonable objective you may have in mind - not all of a sudden, perhaps not in one swift and sweeping act of achievement - but you can do it gradually, day by day and play by play, if you want to do it, if you work to do it, over a sufficiently long period of time.
- William E. Holler

I was annoyed after some contractors left a bald spot on the lawn, following some plumbing, especially since it was on the neighbour's side of the grass.  The neighbours are so helpful.  I had to compliment the heavy equipment operator though, on how accomplished they were in each of their trades, but as he left with the cheque, he stated it was just practise over a "long period of time", just as above.

My emotional timetable needs a "sufficiently" long time, with "suffficiently" as the operative word.  I used to look forward to the achievements with swift & sweeping acts, but now that's behind me, leaving me to take the baby steps.

One meditation today was:

The Next Small thing
When I don't know what to do,
let me do what love requires
I I cannot make a choice,
Let me do the next small thing.
Step by step show me the way
from one small act to the next
For in these small acts of love
your Spirits light will guide me.

Davit,
The more you say, the more we seem more alike, especially being out of tune with the rest of the world, and not being patient, just between you, me and your horse

Hugs

You are more in tune with the rest of the world than me. The fact we have different likes just shows that I am an anomally. Even my very best friend disagrees with me on relaxation tapes or other information tapes. But then I am a product of my upbringing. I spent too many years out of the social loop. Some things even CBT may not cure, some I found it takes a very long time to change. And I am not known for my patience.

Quote of the Day:
You can have anything you want if you want it desperately enough. You must want it with an inner exuberance that erupts through the skin and joins the energy that created the world.
- Sheila Graham

This is inspiring

Davit,
I enjoyed Denis Waitley's tapes, and listened to them often many years ago.

Boring is what the world would be which is why we have our own point of view. Which is why this is not carved in stone. (bible reference) Obviously it is possible to fail because of outside circumstances. But You will notice I said should, not will. Where as Denis leaves no out by using the words can only. That leaves no room for my point of view so I disagree with him, just not totally. I suppose I would not have been bothered if he had not used the word only.

Does it show that I do not like being told unconditionally what to do and how to do it? My baggage. Another of my hangups is relaxation tapes with some one talking on them. They make good clay pigeons. Yet a lot of people find the mono tone relaxing.

Quote of the Day:
The starting point of all achievement is desire. Keep this constantly in mind. Weak desires bring weak results, just as a small amount of fire makes a small amount of heat.
- Napoleon Hill

With mood leveling off, it's necessary to cultivate things to allow desire to emerge, and strike when that fire is hot

I guess I fear making mistakes.

Davit,
I think we need different types of catalysts, judging by your remark.  What would the world be without diversity?

Not so. Failure can be avoided by thouroughly researching and putting the work into it. And working at a rate that we can handle. But it can be hard. Just like this program. Follow those simple things and there can be no failure. Do this in all things and there should be no need for failure. Failure is just an excuse for the most part. Often self inflicted. Often the easy way out.

I had a visit with my therapist today. Does it show?

Oops - I meant this "motivational speaker". I think I remember reading about Mr Waitley coaching Nasa....I was awed
