I tried writing and took Half a Xanax but still feel like my throat is closing. I did eat late and I also took lariam (anti malarial) yesterday. I'm going to Africa on Wednesday. Don't know of this has any relevance though
It is just your mind, there is no logical reason for the fight or flight. If you try to write down the reasons you will see this. If nothing else it breaks the pattern. It is called journalling. Your panic may tell you something illogical but your hand won't. This does work. Even if it is so bad you can't write, do it anyway. Read it later and end with a positive.
Remember I to have been through this. I'll tell you a storey tomorrow when it won't affect you.
