Stevo, I know what you are talking about. I was in what I like to call remission for 2 years. Life was good, I was happy, no panic attacks but then I had a bad reaction to the medication that was working so well for me and I had to go off of it. For the past 6 months I have had it all come back in full force. It is hard to stay positive but I try. I felt better once so I hope that it can happen again. Jessica

Yeah recovery is like a roller coaster. You will have your up periods and your down periods. All part of the patch to recovery. "2 steps backwards 1 step forward" And Erica, tell your Mum I hope she get better!

Hi Stevo. You're referring to patterns. Want to elaborate on that? Is it a cycle you're talking about?

hi Stevo yeah I have had a set back this week and agree that you can sometimes be going along quite happy and suddenly you, get an attack out of the blue or an increase in anxiety. I have found the panic diary really useful to keep reminding me that I am making progress. Also I have found it helpful to keep a list of positive things that I did each day and even write small things down i.e watched a film, went to the shops. This helps 'cos it reminds me of the things that I am doing, rather than thinking of the things I can't do because of the anxiety. Meditation and relaxation also help. Also trying to catch and challenge my thoughts and sometimes giving myself a break i.e my mum's ill at the moment and that would make anyone anxious. It takes a long time to change things, but you are doing well. Try to think that to have had a set back you must have made progress in the first place. Hope this helps a bit. Thinking of you, let us know how you are doing!!! Sarah B :)
