Oh Michael and Diva thank-you so much for your help and kind words . Very touched . I will start to try that tommorrow Diva , pretty sure apart from the anxiety it must be something to do with my suspected Ulcer . Because even if i do manage a wee bit . It hurts like hell . Well was up all night with the biggest hugest panic attacks i have had ever . Was seriously frightened . But thought of all of you to get me through it . Now thats three nights without sleep . Went to pieces this afternoon . Just broke down in front of husband . A in pain (shaking really sets it off which sucks) B . So damn fed up with it . Well Husband called doctor and off i trotted with him . Told him all and said i know im nervous for next week etc . He said sure but he thinks its a bad reaction to the citalopram , he has seen it before !!!!!!!! So he has prescribed me another one i can take from saturday . An d i can take my much saved and hidden emergency diazapam if i get too bad . So will call that a result ! Will have to get back another time to read all your lovely peeps threads im too uncomfortable and starting to shake . So ta ta for now xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Cornish-dee, You've got some great tips from the members here; stick to small meals and eat regularly. You may want to try high energy drinks as well or make fruit smoothies with yoghurt and frozen berries. Brenna, Bilingual Health Educator

Dee, Well, I agree with Micheal's sentiments and thoughts They are well put. Also, I want to add that in high anxiety periods I too have much trouble eating. I don't know if what I do would work for you but I will tell you in case it might. Well first, I eat in small portions but I nibble as much as I can all day long. The all day long is the key. If you can't eat big portions well at least eat super often. That way, at the end of the day you will have eaten a decent amount of food.I try not to force myself too much but I still push myself to eat as I have no apetite. And the less I eat the more nauseous I get from low sugar count and the less I want to eat...So do try to make yourself eat all day, just small manageable portions is what I tel myself. Second, variety is the spice of life. When I am having trouble eating, I try to eat a variety of things, you just never know when one will suddenly taste good and go down easy. Plus it is less boring. So I eat say half a toast (with whatever on it makes it better for the taste). With peanut butter if you are not allergic to it or too nauseous gives it extra protein. I sometimes add cheese. All in small portions so I don't feel nauseous and like I have to eat a mountain! Then I eat say, a few grapes (maybe 5-6) and some nuts for protein (say 6 almonds). Then I will eat a quarter of a banana. Then I eat some white rice but only a saucer of it ( with something on it or plain depending on nausea level). Anyway, you get the idea, I eat very very often but in small less discouraging more manageable portions and I vary my food a lot. Also, if my digestive system is too out of whack (like diahreah or however that is spelled for example!)I will stick to white rice, white pasta, white bread and banana purée. That is what my mom calls the bland diet :) Anyway, hope this helps. I know this stuff is really subjective and doesn't work for everybody but I figure everybody could share what helps and you might find what works for you :) Take care and remember, this too shall pass!!! -Diva

Dee Hang in there, your experiences are so familiar. I remember thinking "will these feelings ever subside, will I ever fee 'normal' again?" Meds, no meds, fear of meds, icky feeling of starting meds, yucky feeling of ending meds, feeling like heck because I needed meds etc....You will get through it all as we all do and from my own experience it won't be in an explosion of happiness and no anxiety but rather a calm acknowlegement of "this is o.k"...I am currently working on 'exposure' now and it is quite tough but man is this website and the programs in it wonderful. Stick to the programs and the weekly tasks for I am finding it working so well.I really do admire you tenacity and your openess, keep posting and know that others are thinking of you and are in full support! As my Irish Granny used to say "It is always darkest before the dawn" Good luck and keep plugging away! Michael

Thanks Diva . You have no idea ( well you probaly do) how hard im trying to 'handle' this . Yet another blissful night , but now i feel poorly . Back to being unable to eat . And i am trying but just cant get anything down . Have forced 3/4 slice of toast and a spoonful of scrammbled egg and a banana today . Apart from not fancying anything at all im racking my brains to think of something thats easy and good to eat . Wondered if anyone had this problem and what did they find was best to nibble on ? ok back to concentrating on being posive before kiddies come home . Catch you later xx

Hi Cornish-dee, I'm sorry to hear that you had such a rough night but I really admire how you are still positive after all those set backs. It is such a horrible feeling, being in pain and discomfort but I really look up to you to have come this far with it. Soon, you will get answers from that appointment, right? Good luck!

I have been taking Citalopram for nearly five weeks and I find they help a lot, althought they do take about three weeks to kick in. It really has helped keep me calmer and lower my anxiety levels. Good luck.

dee, Thanks for letting us know how you are doing. It may take some time for the medication to have effect, so be patient and do let your doctor know if your and your body are not adjusting. The members will be along shortly to share their experiences :) Josie, Health Educator
