Hello everyone: Just got a new computer and decided to check in with an update.
Davit came home from hospital about two weeks ago. He will check in too.
Hope to catch up on things later.
Things going well. Eating fresh veggies every day. Weather is wonderful here right now but June was so rainy, lots of mosquitoes. Never saw so many in my life! Everyone was saying it was a bad year because of the rains. While Davit was in hospital had two grandchildren stay with me for 3 wks. and that was lots of fun. They helped quite a bit in the garden but we played every single day - that was great. I taught them how to run the small tractor and they took turns cutting the field grass. Who knew I'd be teaching someone else when I just learned myself. Isn't that amazing? Never too old to learn or teach.
I've hurt my back which is very unusual for me. Never had sore back before, but it was from lifting and twisting rather than bending at the knees. I do know better. It's almost better now though.
You have been making huge changes that take a lot of courage and strength. Hope you are being present to this often. You are an inspiration - and don't you forget it!
Dropping in to say hello and see how everyone is doing..
Nice to read about your progress Anerol Big Congrats...
Nice to see you are still hanging in there and doing the quotes for the day Hugs.
Good the hear you have come to some decision about your health care too Bren..
I hope I have not forgotten anyone, if so please forgive me..The mind isn't what it used to be anymore sometimes...
David and Sunny I have not seen a update from you in quite a while and am wondering how you both are doing? I hope and pray that things are getting better for you both now..Please update when and if you can..
As for me I have made a lot of changes in my life the last few months health wise and am adjusting to those changes..
They say you can't change overnight and I think this applies to the changes I am making in my life right now too.. LOL :)))
Say hi to Davit. Congrats on the progress with a tractor.
I wish someone had taught the driver who backed up into me how to drive manual with a clutch. I have a little paint missing from car to remind me of that little mishap.
Tell Davit that a chair is just a few bells and whistles away from being a useful farming tool
Thanks for the update on how you and Davit are doing. It sounds like a major challenge that's for sure. The two of you are getting though it all slowly but surely. You story is a inspiration to everyone reading here today..
I am praying for you both every day and wishing you both a speedy recovery..
Maybe someone will get sent your way again today to help you run that garden tractor:):)
Hi: An update on Davit. He was allowed to sit today in a chair. It was complete bed rest before. They used a sling to get him out of the bed and onto a chair, a special one which can tilt back. He is not allowed to stand yet. His legs are very weak and the incision still hasn't healed but physio decided it would be better to sit up for awhile every day. He was quite dizzy but it got better. They had tried for him to sit on the edge of the bed but there was not enough support without a back and arms, etc. Hoping that in two weeks' time, he can start fluids again. This is week three and he is hanging in there! He had another two blood transfusions today as he is anemic. He is being moved to another room today because the sling takes a lot of room and he was in a double before.
I brought him a spiral note book and pen so he can start jotting down his thoughts and observations when he feels up to it. He doesn't want a t.v. but I did bring him his CD player and he is enjoying that.
I was a bit anxious this morning with no bp meds. for two days now and can feel some side effects. I thought about CBT and asked the 10 questions and realized I was getting myself worked up more by thinking negatively, the fear was starting. Glad to say, I got it under control and was able to continue my day. I did more planting, weeding and then continued my painting inside. I am painting the kitchen right now and the bathroom will be next. It's a good project to keep me busy and I don't rush it. When I feel tired, I take a break and a tall glass of water.
Today a friend came by (he wanted to borrow Davit's tall ladder) and he taught me a bit more about the small tractor which has the brush hog at the back - to mow the fields, etc. He had me practice reverse and forward a few times and parking close to the garage. I still feel a bit nervous about it but think I can do it. I am not mechanical at all and never drove a standard car with clutch and so have to get used to that with the tractor. I just don't want to break anything!
I am sure you will have pleanty of helps during your recovery, and i hope you mend soon, take care, and know we all have been praying for you,and wish you well!!!!
