Comical moments in My Day

I find that a new pair of shoes brings the feeling of a 'brand-new' start.
What about you?  What items, if any, help boost your motivation?

I'm so worn out, that I've had the same shoes for too long.  One shoe had some metal plate coming out of the heel, so I decided I wouldn't work out, and go home early, after a long day.  I'd cooked breakfast, taken a course for half a day, shopped at two places, and gassed up.

When I got home, the metal plate has slipped out of my shoe.  I suppose I could have worked out, without anybody noticing, despite the metal sound one shoe made every time I walked.

One guy told me the reason my shoes squeaked was that they weren't paid for, and that was 11 years ago, so I guess it's time to go shoe shopping

Today's comical moment was after I was trying to shred some carrots with an immersion blender.  I can't describe how careful I was, since I'd hurt my thumb last week with the this powerful tool, which has a very sharp blade.

I hurried to church, and as I approached the church, I noticed my hands were orange.  I thought that I could keep my gloves on, but it's not warm enough and I didn't wish to attract attention.  So I used my anti-bacterial bottle of liquid, since wouldn't have time to go to the bathroom.  We shake hands as some sign of  "peace", but I didn't wish anyone to think I was experimenting with agent orange.

Fortunately, the lights are low in the church, and the remaining light shining through the stain glass makes everything look tinted, not just my hands.

Exchanging greetings wouldn't be such a big deal, after all.

Just another comical moment in mundane life.

Mom does use boiled water, but I wanted wanted to find the perfect situation.

Apparently there is a relation whose surname is "perfect", I'm reminded.

He lived a very short life

Hi Hugs: ahahaha - it made me smile for sure.  I could visualize it.  I've done the glad wrap thing too when things splash all over the place.

As for the cereal, I know someone who pours boiling water on their Shredded Wheat to soften, then tip out the water and add the milk.  I think it leaves it warm which I don't mind but if you/mom do, (I've tried this trick) you could leave it on the counter for a little while to cool before adding the milk.  It's not that hot, just warm.

Hugs, I am laughing with you.  I love that you found humor in the situations immediately.  They always say (whoever "they" are) that some day you'll look back on (fill in the blank) and laugh.  Good for you that you didn't have to wait that long

Today I decided to take make it easier for mom to eat her cereal.  The cereal is high fibre, and it takes a long time for it to get soft, even in milk.

So I took out my immersion blender(which nearly took off my thumb sunday morning), and placed the little pellets of bran into a bowl.

I felt like I was under gunfire.  The pellets flew all over the place, and may have taken paint off the peeling ceiling(saving me work in the future).  Then I tried to contain the pellets with a towel, but I can't see what I'm doing.  Then I tried to pierce glad wrap and wrap it around bowl for visibility and safety.  I swept up what I could, but there are still pieces on the floor which I crunch when I walk.

Back to the drawing the board, with a chuckle.

And it's time to change the bandage on my thumb, which is healing from sunday morning's incident.  It was too early in the morning, I suppose, since my hand and eye co-ordination wasn't what I hoped.  Actually, I think it's called proprioception, since the night before that, I missed a step going down steep concrete steps, and stressed by knees.  I skipped the workout that day.

Yesterday, I added too much olive oil to some reheated lentils, and my stomach has been very unhappy.

Everything in moderation
