Hi Stephanie, Welcome to the site. Thanks for taking the time to share your introduction here with us. The core of The Depression Center is our Depression Program which is an interactive, 16-session cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT)course. When using cognitive behavioral therapy, each person has unique goals in their treatment. Whatever your motivation, cognitive behavioral therapy is a very effective treatment for depression. You can use the tools whether or not you are taking medication, and whether or not you are currently seeing a therapist or mental health professional. The Depression Program has a number of tools and resources to help each individual overcome their depression and win. We wish you all the best and look forward to hearing from you again soon. Another newbie here. I'm 35 and have struggled with depression most of my life, made worse 1 & 1/2 years ago when my 37 year old fiance' died unexpectedly due to a heart problem. After that I was diagnosed with PTSD, bipolar disorder and overall, major depression. I spent 6 weeks in a mental hospital outpatient program last summer after a particularly bad couple of months. I was already taking Cymbalta which didn't seem to be working, but my doctors kept me on it at 60mgs and added Topamax (for PTSD which I no longer take), Klonopin (for anxiety and insomnia), Geodon and Seroquel (for bipolar) all of which I'm still on. I've most recently added Wellbutrin XL to my current meds after I had another episode about a week ago where I couldn't function, work or leave the house, much less my bed. I'm hoping this program, along with my therapist, psychiatrist, medications and the support and patience of my friends and family will help me get my life back on track so I can finally see a light at the end of the tunnel. Stephanie
