hey tryagain..you should change your name to successthistime! you could go down to the lowest dose of the gum for a week or so..talk to your dr or the pharmacist. if you go down to the lowest dose and feel confident about staying quit, GO FOR IT ! I have been on the patch for 6 weeks, and fully intend on staying on it at least for another 5 weeks. NRT's were developed to give quitters a better chance at successful in quitting - thus a specific time frame to the program. It isn't magic, the quitter still has to do a lot of the work. I have quit cold turkey in the past for a 3 month period, so I know I could do it without the patch. I however believe this is my final quit and I am doing everything to give me the best chance at being successful. I do not want to go through this again. Thoughts about stopping the prescribed program should be questioned - could be Ol-Nic coming in at you sideways, before you are actually ready. Be careful. If using NRT is in your PLAN, follow it. Some people are not pro NRT and will tell you to get off it. They don't know you. Do what you think will give you the best chance at staying quit - forever. Tutti, This could be a reaction, so check with the doctor or pharmacist. How are you doing today? How did you combat your crave? Josie _____________________ The SSC Support Team.
