Big hugs to you Sparky. I am so sorry for you. True friends are few and far between. You are blesses to have one for so many years. I am sure she was more like a sister to you.
My best friend of 30 some years has cancer right now. When she was diagnosed in May it really hit me hard. You never realize how precious life is until life "happens" close to home. I know she will be fine but it is still very scary.

I was about a week ago that I said I needed a break. One never knows how long a break will be, but I need to post.
As some you have read I have a new kitten as my six months reward. I worked hard to get him. It may be my six month reward, but it has taken many attempts to get him. So worth it. Things happen when they are suppose to.
Now the real reason for the post. The day I was getting Mr. Kitty a very dear friend of mine died of lung cancer. I was rewarding myself for being smoke free for six months and she lost her life because of smoking.
We had been friends for over 40+ years. We worked together, we were room mates and shared several friends in common. And we all smoked together. I have been the last one to quit. This friend was one day younger than me. Lot of reflections going on today.
So my friends look at your friend and be grateful for them. Tell your family you care and love yourself enough to stay smoke free for today; after all that is all we have for now.
Keep the Quit
Sparky
