LOL!!! YES and it is serious!! ;-). I figured it was the nicorette gum.. are you using an NRT? This really made me laugh since I am also suffering the same fate.

I'm on day 19 and it isn't as constant, but I still have bouts.. Someone else said about a month.. hmm, I don't remember this the last time I quit.

Well, when this was first posted, I was not having this problem at all and always had a pretty good digestive system. In the last few weeks, I have joined the club.
I blamed it on certain foods and stopped those foods. But that didn't make any difference.. crazy and weird.. that's all I can say...
I wonder if the longer you smoked .. the longer this lasts... ???
BTW... I quit cold turkey.. so can't blame the patches or the other NRT's.
I will certainly be glad when this bit is over with... I'm hating it !!! Hiding out sometimes.. lol

This is the greatest thread ever! I love that we are all so comfortable here that these conversations can happen. My eating has been so horrible since starting my quit that my entire GI is a mess. I have had horrible acid reflux as well "other issues." I am hoping that I can start a healthier diet this week, but I'm not stressing over it at this point, my quit is going to well to risk it.
Yes, Dave...........seems to be not too common but, definitly one of the more " obvious " signs that U are a quitter. LOL Maybe a result of suckin' in all that hot air for so many years. It had to go somewhere. LOL

OMG!!!!!!!!!!.......LOL
and i thought i was the only one....like for real......LOL
part of me wanted to blame any excess gas on quitting smoking but i couldnt justify it......now i know that its true
i figured it was due to always chewing coffee stirrers or gum.
at least its a natural kinda good thing.......but for my own sake im just gonna go back to blamin it on the dawg......DAMN YOU!!!!!......BAD BOOMER.......BAD DAWGY!!!!!!!.........LOL
take care all
You are not alone in this. Man...my kids think I could fuel up the van. At first I thought it was a side effect of the patch but I have been off them for 5 days now and the farting hasn't let up.Not only is the quantity excessive but the quality too. PHEW!! i think it's from all the toxins that smoking put and trapped in our system and not we are getting rid of all that poison... Happy farting...This too shall pass. :eg:

And we didn't know how annal retentive we were. I went and bought a bottle of bean-no to take before each meal, and pepcid complete for after meals. 44 days in and the flatulence is still strong at times.
