Well, at least others are paying attention to this thread. ;)
Thanks for the tip, Shevie! Interesting how sunflower seed stock has increased in value. In light of my recent conversion to sunflower seed connoisseur, if there are many more out there like my manager and myself, I can see how this would be the case! ;)
Anyway, in response to your previous question, whether it was rhetorical or not, yes the Bullmastiff breed is more of a guard dog than an agility dog, although I have seen them in shows. I think it must have been the type of shows where the dogs just strut their stuff around a large oval and the judges decide who they think looks the best and is the most well mannered. :) There was a time when I was working nights, and I didn't want my wife home alone. That's when I made the decision to buy our Bully, her name is Birkita, which means "Strength". She's about 125 pounds, and looks more intimidating than she is. Most people are afraid of her at first, but she's just a big oaf. :) Anyway, if I remember correctly from the research I did before we bought her, (which was from a licensed breeder in Canada), Bullmastiff's were originally bred to guard large estates in England. Since, at the time, we were living on a few acres of land, I figured that this type of dog might be a good fit. Of course, we keep her in at night.
And, for those who are wondering - yes, my manager has kept up with his quit. I'm SO proud of him, he's doing it! He has kept his motivation and refused to give in, even when the going has gotten rough a few times. He is staying the course.
