I took 25mg trazodone for about three weeks for Celexa-induced insomnia.
Positive: VERY effective at putting my to sleep quickly.
Negative:

[*]not effective at making me feel rested in the morning -- only 1mg Ativan does that
[*]Severe sore throat during day
[*]Chest pain
[*]moderate dry mouth --more so than the SSRIs, but very tolerable.

Hi Bud, I've been using trazodone along with effexor for the last six months and have had the same side affects, I found that any caffeine(coffee or tea or coke)with in a few hours of taking trazodone would make me sick,I even vomited in my sleep once!That was very scarey,I thought I was going to choke to death but since I watched the caffeine I've been Ok. About the dizziness,I get that to but I fall asleep so fast it does'nt bother me...Well thats it for me.It's nice to know that these side effects are real and not just in my head...Remember Think Positive... ;)

You must have clicked on Post this message before it was completed, but I take it that you still had side effects with the half dose. Keep on reporting it to the Dr. Side effects are unpleasant and there are other meds from among which he may prescribe.
My psychiatrist prescribed trazodone for sleep along
with my regular Wellbutrin and BuSpar. Besides making
me very dizzy, when I took it I got headaches and
actually vomited. I'd rather have the insomnia ! So I
didn't take trazodone again for a few weeks. I gave it
another try and the same bad side effect occurred. Has
anyone else had this experience with trazodone? I did
