Wellbutrin / Zoloft

I have tried Wellbutrin before. It helped my depression but I felt agitated. Agitation is a side effect of Wellbutrin. Some people like Wellbutrin and they feel fine on it. I am now on imipramine and zoloft. I am on high doses of both. I feel good now.

I know just how you feel, and I'm thinking that it's a side effect of the wellbutrin sr...I started on it 3 weeks ago, and it's the weirdest thing, I don't sleep at night, nor during the day, but I don't have any energy and it always gets worse around around 7 or 8, it's like I can't even get out of bed. I'm sick of meds...I'm 26 and female, and I've been on 4 different meds since I was 21, and I always end up right back where I started from....if this wellbutrin doesn't work, then I'm just leaving all medications alone...I feel like a zombie everyday...and I forget things, not to mention I tremble a lot since taking wellbutrin....i guess it's just another side effect....i'm rambling and forgot what the point of this message was....oh well...i'm sleepy and i'm going to take a nap...

Thanks... Great advice. I know that I put too much pressure on myself at the start, and have trouble reaching the unreachable goals. I want to be 21 again and 180 pounds. It was just three years ago that I finished my 5th marathon in 3 years and was in the shape of my life. Yet, at that time I was miserable, but in shape. Now I am happy for the most part, but a fat ****per! Slow and steady...i will chip away!

The biggest thing that I find to help me to keep exercise a part of my life (not that I am by any means in great shape) is to force it to be a part of my routine, and I that great teacher trick of reward reinforcement. (If I go all week without skipping my exercise, than I get some extra time to play NHL 2000 on my computer.) Maybe if you start small, just getting back into the habit of waking a little earlier to go for a walk before the mid-day lethargy kicks in, maybe that will get the ball rolling in the right direction. If you ever want to e-mail me to discuss exercise plans, mail me at mkthotson@aol.com. Mike

I am a 30 year old man, single. I am a teacher and a financial planner who has had depression bascially my entire life. I have been on Wellbutrin SR and Zoloft for a year. I had gone through two years of hell trying way too many combo's of meds. In terms of my depression, I am doing great. I have had very few ups and downs. I am pretty happy. I am miles ahead of where I was 3 years ago when I first went for help. My question involves fatigue and that old " zombie " feeling. I get so tired in the middle of the day. My energy level sucks. I have put on 75 pounds and I can't help feeling that I am lazy. I am so unmotivated to do anything above and beyond anything. I find myself having trouble getting out of bed, and the feelings of being out of shape bother the heck out of me. It might sound wierd, but the depression is under control, but my lethargy and lack of motivation are draggin me down. I wonder at what point that I should reduce or get off the scripts and try this game on my own. I see my shrink every other thrusday and my script writting doctor every other month for just 15 minute med evaluations. I am going to talk about this stuff with the meds doctor on Thursday, but I wanted some feedback on my lack of motivation.
