Hi. Welcome! In the Outside Resources of our sister site, www.paniccenter.net you'll find the site for the AADA. From there you can find a therapist in your area. All the best.

Hello Everyone. I just registered today with this support group. I was diagnosed with major depression a little over 2 years ago... but was dealing with it for probably 5 years. I was improving on some medications until this past winter when I went through what seemed like hell. My psychiatrist suggested a different approach so we are trying something else at the moment. I was doing pretty well but then had a major setback a few weeks ago. I've done alot of reading, both on the web and books, and I have to say that they have helped me tremendously. I strongly recommend a book titled "Your Depression Map" by Randy J Paterson Phd. It educates you about depression and helps you to lay out some goals and plans to get you on your way to recovery. That brings me to my question. Can anyone provide some insight into how to locate a CBT therapist? I'd like to speak to a psychologist that specializes in this area but I'd first like to learn who and where my options are before being 'assigned' one through my GP. Any insight into this would be appreciated. Thank-you! :)
