Wondering

HI Kepa, I would talk to your Dr. about your reaction to this med. There is a possibility that the antidepressant is causing a hypomanic/manic reaction. Antidepressants inducing extremely high feelings in some people is common with people who have bipolar disorder...which is often undiagnosed in people with seemingly unipolar depression. ...Aqua

Actually I noticed the exact opposite effect. For years I either had these high highs or low lows. I was never just level. I always assume I wasn't trying hard enough to fight them. I recently (2 weeks ago) went on effexor 75mg and to my surprise I feel much more stable. I don't experience the lows like I used to and much of my anxiety has subsided. Hope things work out for you

Hi, I just joined this site yesterday. I'm 18 and I've suffered from depression and anxiety for years. I've been on a handful of meds like Paxil, Prozac, and Zoloft. I'm now taking 75 mg of Effexor a day. I just wondered if anyone here who has taken it noticed that it seemed to cause like highs and lows that they didn't have before. I mean, it just seems that throughout the day now I have these low lows and then I'll get this giddy, high feeling. I know that sounds manic, but it only started happening when I started taking the effexor. Just wondered if this has happened to anyone else.
