Hi Diane I cannot agree more with Josie and Creativespace. You are truly a remarkable woman. I do not know how you are able to keep up your full time job as well as receiving the treatment. I have seen what the treatment can do to you. I honestly do not think you are depressed. You say you are tired. That is understandable. You don't have to be energetic and on the go the whole time to not be depressed. It is difficult for me to understand that your family cannot understand your situation. Cancer has been around forever and I was under the impression that everyone understands the side-effects of treatment. Just shows you. Please just do one thing. Do not let someone talk you into feeling depressed and getting treatment if it is not depression. If I were in your position, I would go and see a pshychiatrist (without the knowledge of your family) and explain the situation and ask him if he/she thinks you are depressed. I'll bet that you are fine. In the meantime, good luck with the treatment. I know it sounds funny, but maybe this was necessary so that you can realise what you are worth to your family. I think you are worth millions in gold, and I just wish there was a way that we can make them realise it. PLEASE let us know how you are.

you go girl! ask why your family think you are depressed. if you've already asked, ask them again! sometimes people see things you can't. or in my case...don't want to. just think fish :) i don't know why...but it helps.

Hi Diane, I am glad to hear you've had a great prognosis! Have everyone see the family doctor and have him explain symptoms, risk factors and side effects for the situation. Inquire about family counseling. You should be going through this together as a family. Please rely on our site to help you through individually. Use our reference tools and programs as guidelines to help you through this time. Your family needs to understand that you all have to work together for the common goal. You are a very strong woman indeed! Josie

I recently found out I had cancer. I have been going to radiation therapy 5 times a week. I have been keeping up with my job full time. My husband and kids think I have become depressed because of my illness, because I am so tired all the time. I am tired because of the treatments. They want me to see a shrink and get on meds. I know I am down because of the cancer, but life has a way of doing things to a person. My prognosis is good, and I have a positive outlook. I am doing what is best for me, just keep the same routine everyday. But I cannot keep up with the constant lecturing on how to live my life to satisfy my husband and kids. I am not over doing. What they want is more, and I will not do that. They were already told to go to HELL-but guess what? THERE HEHE
