stuck in life

Thank-you Michael. I'm waiting for a bed and at the moment (right now) I'm really, really restless. I've been trying to cut down on smoking and have been smoking in the basement for about a month. But I'm somking upstairs, right this minute. I smoking a lot. I'm restless so please forgive me if I ramble. You asked when you can expect to feel better. It's different for everyone. Maybe weeks, maybe months. For me it's not like taking a pill to relieve a headach and it's gone in a few hours. I take my meds and take my meds and then I'll do better and then I'll slip somewhat then get better and on it goes. I haven't been in the hospital since 2002 so I've done well. Like you I don't work, I haven't since 2001. I can drive. Is it hard to cope with not driving or have you come to terms with that? Sometimes the future does seem grim, but not all the time. And sometimes for not a long time. Everybody is different. I know one lady who was hospitalized once and has been better ever since and that's like 30/40 years ago. Stay on your meds, work with your doctors. Are you getting counselling? You don't have to expect to go into hospital, but if you do, don't worry it's not a bad thing. About work, well I want to go back to work (I'm 47) but haven't been able to yet. I don't know what to say about this. I take Paxal too, and Lamotrigine, Chlorpromazine and Zoplicone. Is Zyprexa a sleeping pill? I have to go now. My husband says dinner is ready. Maybe after I eat I can sleep. Take care, Maggiee

Hey... I'm Michael. Thank you Maggiee and Sanha for the support. I've been on Paxal for almost two months and Zyprexa for a week. I don't work and haven't for a few years (before I was diagnosed). I have seizures and I can't drive. I have no idea what is going to happen to my life. The future is grim. When do I begin to get better? And what can I expect(work...hospitals...etc? Also, I have absolutely no sex drive...to the point that my girlfriend sometimes feels offended. Any advice?? Thank you all...thank you for sharing with me.
