these arent the answers you were looking for but hearing others experiences helps by knowing other people have felt the same way. when i first started taking anti-depressants my doc started me on 20mg of generic paxil and i felt soooo nauses every day and sleeping well i found the earlier i took it the better. however when i went to the doc to get this medicine i knew very well i was depressed for a long time about 4 years, but could never get the courage to tell anyone till it just overwhelmed me and i was in a dark corner with no light and no guide. you may not think you have depression and it may just be anxiety, but atleast you recognize that somethings wrong. try taking some of the tests out there for depression. i will tell you that the nausea will pass...i increased my dose to 40mg and from there i switched to wellbutrin which has been great!!! much less nausea, infact hardly any at all!! now i'am just working on the amount thats good for me. i'am currently up to 300mg , i built up to it kinda gradually though. thats something you should deffinetly do so your body doesnt go completly hay-wire!!!! well let me know how it goes i'am curious to know how your doing, good luck

Hi Tealeh, Unfortunately we are not able to answer this type of medication concern. Please be sure to ask this question of your doctor. Your local pharmacist is also a great resource for medication questions. Casey ____________________________________ The Depression Center Support Team

Hi, I have heard that SSRI antidepressants can cause permanent brain damage which leads to memory loss. The SSRI antidepressants cause the increase of serotonin in the brain and the immune system get the impression that the brain receptors are not doing their job properly in absorbing serotonin. So it kills the receptors that don't absorb the Serotonin. I think it depends on the individual and medication effect of how much excess serotonin you get hanging around in your brain!!! Anyway, I have read somewhere on the internet that a Harward Psychiatrist has published a book about the SSRI risks of permanent brain damage. I wonder if you have heard about the risks of SSRI medications???Do you think these claims are true. I have been prescribed to take Celexa for sleeping problems due to the anxiety but I have doubts about taking them. I don't feel very depressed, I feel sleepless due to the anxiety and life stress. I had tried them before and i got a really bad serotonin symptoms. When I was on 10mg/day, I was fine. As soon as I increased the dosage to 20mg after a week. I got one of the worst experiences of my life. Rapid heart beat, nausea, restlessness, insomnia. An strange sensation in my head, I felt that it was exploding. Anyway, my family doctor suggested to stay on 10mg/day for 3 weeks till my body get used to it before increasing the dosage to 20 mg/day. I feel really bad to get to this point in my life to take pills to be able to sleep normally at night.
