is life fair?

Trisha: I took it 2 years ago and I still have it, I don't think it helped much because I won't go see a physician anyways. I don't even know who my physician is to be frank. I mean, I've only met her once. I tried to let her in on some of my feelings but she gave me an impression that she was only trying to get the job done.

Try So Hard, Have you taken the depression test on this site? I think it would help because then you would have something to take to a physician. there is support and help out there for you although you have trouble right now believing that I guess. We all need others when we are depressed. Don't try to go it alone. When I am tired of trying I try to just stop and accept the fact that I need to rest for the time being and realize I am not in total control of how things go in this life for anyone including myself. Sometimes that acceptance of the way things are today helps give me new strength strange as that may sound. At any rate keep writing to this site because (in my opinion) that is the part of you that wants to share and wants things to improve...a part that we are all expressing here. trisha

thanks Trisha, I try to be strong, but I feel like all these things that are happening to me are slowly eroding me inside. I mean, it's almost summer, but I just can't take it anymore, I feel like I've worked up to my full capacity and I just want to stop.

I don't really believe in God. I mean, I tried to belive in him but either it takes him a long time to see all the misery I am going through or he just doesn't care because I an practically an athiest. I used to pray every night to whoever is out there that's supposedly looking out for us, but after some incidents, I just lost my faith.

Hello to Bob and TrySoHard,Life is what it is. We can each describe it and be describing it accurately for us. Sometimes though our depression so affects our ability to think that all there is is the sad, hopeless mood. If it doesn't pass we need to get help. It is an illness we suffer.TrySoHard, don't give up that part of yourself that is angry and disillusioned. Use that energy to feel better if you can. You sound like your feelings are strong! That is a good thing because it means you also have the capacity for joy. I know you will find it. Don't give up.Trisha

trysohard hey thats an interesting perspective. there doesn't appear to be a right or wrong answer here. ocassionally i am fortunate enought to become totally immersed in interesting activities that absorb my attention. live for the times when you smile. For some God provides the answers. with faith He will care for you. He works in mysterious ways. I am working on that philosophy with mixed success. I hope to read some more of your philosophy in the future take care bob

life is not fair, I think it's a punishment for people to be born. Think about it, no matter how successful you are, you end up dying. And if you live a ****py life, the living is really not worth the pain.

trisha i seem to be in an up mood at the moment. it helps to get lots of sleep, but of course, with depression its very difficult to tell exactly what causes ups and downs. keep up the writing....we have to get some more communication on this site. bob

Bob, You sound good to me despite or maybe because of your problems. This helps me because I think we can suffer from clinical depression in a chronic way and if we accept that as a fact and as the illness it is,take our medicine, and work on doing things to help ourselves feel better every day and know we are not alone that we CAN find some measure of peace and contentment and sometimes even joy.We just have to keep remembering that when it is bad and helping each other to remember that. Thanks for answering, Trisha

trish how am i really doing...i can turn myself on to some degree...this site usually turns me on...i like writing...its like getting into a good social group or meeting the right person...that lifts me up. if i speak to my mother or my daughter..people i know who care about me and who listen, that lifts me up. i try to do the same thing through prayer ocassionally, but thats not always so easy. sometimes exercise will perk me up if i have the energy to get into it. i also spent time writing papers at school years ago on a great variety of topics where one has to look at all aspects of a problem, so i tend to evaluate the pro and cons, hopefully in an objective manner..i have taken a variety of liberal arts and social science courses and so look at myself through those filters. i have experienced life in a variety of ways, gone through deaths, counselling and religious institutions. i have failed at many jobs around the world and succeeded at a few....so my glass can either look half empty or half full, depending on my particular mood. lifes a journey. i continue my trip along the rocky road. i hope to find the ocassional peaceful oasis where i can rest my tired body. thanks for writing...take care bob
