Lucy, You might want to try B12. The sublingual type is the best. Keep me posted! :) Robyn

Hi Mat When i first went on citalopram it was great, i was on 10mg at first and i thought it was doing me the world of good, then i started feeling down again so the doc upped me to 20 mg, again was working wonders, but then i had a really bad time and was very low, the worst i think ive been and i went back to the doc and hes now put me on escitalopram, which is the same type of med, but just a purer form, i know two of my friends who are both on citalopram and they think thats its good also, and i dont think youll get addicted or anything, i was on and off citalopram and never had any withdrawal effects, my advice is to keep taking them and after 2 weeks you should notice a difference, i dont know if your feeling nauseous at the moment but that will pass, if still no change in 3-4 weeks, id go back to your g.p Hope ive helped answer some of your questions mat, good luck mate, Lucy

Hi Lucy I was iterested to read you were on citalopram and it didnt work! I am on it now (only for past 5 days) and nothing seem to change. I am anxious as ever (if not more!). Did this not work for you at all? I like to know more about citalopram and its effect, would I become dependent?

Hi Lucy, Thanks for sharing your introduction here with us. You mentioned drinking in your post. I just wanted to let you know we also have a great sister site located at www.alcoholhelpcenter.netif you were interested in information on drinking. Please feel free to roam the site at your own pace. If you look to the left of the screen under "PROGRAM TOOLS" you'll find our Depression Test. The purpose of these tests is to prepare you with information that you can present to your physician. When you're finished the test, you can either print your Final Report or email it directly to your doctor. If you ever have any questions or concerns please click the "CONTACT US" link at the bottom of the page. We're open to any questions or concerns you may have. Looking forward to hearing from you soon! Casey _____________________________________ The Depression Center Support Team www.alcoholhelpcenter.net

Lucy, Welcome to the group. I have to say I'm glad you decided to stay sober for now. I know that when I drink even a glass or two of wine it doesn't mix well with my meds. and actually makes me more depressed than without it. Self medicating is never a good idea (I know, my sister does it). Anyway, as I said before welcome. Take care of that wonderful husband and 3 beautiful kids! They need you! :) Kelly
