Hi

I have been in and out of therapy and on different medications over the past ten years. Zoloft, Prozac, Welbutrin, Lexapro - some better than others but nothing that ever lasted. I would like to give this a try without the meds. I am unemployed right now so cannot afford to see a therapist, however I would like to get back in once I get some health insurance again.

Mgl, Welcome to the Depression Center and thanks for introducing yourself. Are you receiving any additional assistance outside the Depression Center? We encourage you to begin working through the CBT program located in your Session Diary. Throughout this program you'll explore many aspects of your life, from your core beliefs to your relationships, that are affected by depression. We would also encourage to keep browsing and posting in the forums. We hope to hear from you again soon. Danielle, Bilingual Support Specialist

Hi, I'm new on this site and this program. I have suffered from depression for as long as I can remember, but did not recognize it until about ten years ago when I experienced my first real "life change." Since then, I have gotten so low at points that the thought of suicide has pervaded my being many times. I started to get scared at the thought of it when I realized I wasn't scared at the thought of it so much any more. So, in the last ten years, I've had enough "life changes" to last, and I wonder if my depression is causing many of these changes or if the changes are causing my depression. Either way, I want to feel better and hope doing this will help.
