Alone

One thing that I used to do to "steal" time alone for me was to get up early when hubby & kids were asleep and use that time. Now that the nest is empty it is easier to get that alone time. Everyone varies in the amount of time they need for themselves and there is nothing wrong with needing it.

hi tipper, since you interact with a lot of people, I wanted to know... do you feel they are invading your space? or somehow leaving it sullied/unclean?

Tipper, It's okay to take time for yourself to decompress. Have you ever thought of starting a hobby, class or team of sorts. Not only could this be a pleasurable activity for you but it could also give you an opportunity to interact with others - no responsibility involved. Danielle, Bilingual Support Specialist

Thanks Dumpling I agree - I really do LOVE it. Problem is I don't want it to stop, want to stay that way and in my household it is a luxury - so I MAKE time for it by taking it away from other responsibilities. I am not interested in much else and get internally angry when disturbed.

wanting to withdraw, be alone, be anti social is not a bad thing. it is actually a good thing if you are content. when i am not depressed, being alone is a lovely, self indulgent luxury.

I have an incredible urge to 'be alone'; to read; to not have to interact with others. I have major trouble 'wanting' to interact. I have a job where I constantly have to so when I am home, I just want to curl up with a book and not be 'responsible'. I feel I have been responsible forever. Is this something that happens to other people?
