Hello Y-claire, What would happen to you if you did 'less' at work? Is there a big productivity thing going on at work that threatens to 'dump' you if you don't drive yourself into the floor each day?? Can you do less and leave some time for yourself in the evenings to go online or to just relax or do a few exercise and have a good, healthy meal at home? What ever happened to talking to friends or family on the telephone in the evenings?? You really have to find time for yourself. We're the same age, you and I, and I know how necessary it is to carve out some time for myself for re-creation and feeding my mind. Please make the first move to slow down at work and still give them a day's work without killing yourself...

Hi y-claire, You have made a start by posting here. you will be given great advice i'm sure. You also say that you manage to get through the day with nothing left for yourself. I would say to you, well done for getting through the day! When you are feeling so low, getting out of bed is an achievement. You have been jogging along for some time now and well done to you for doing that. Dont beat yourself up. I know its easier said than done. Have you been to your doctor to have a review of your meds? Try to work through the C.B.T just a little at a time, even if its only a couple of times a week to start with. All of us here tend to get stuck on some weeks and have our better days and terrible days. Keep posting. good Luck.

I joined in the summer-my excuses so far have been to wait until the fall when I would be in more, that I can't read the screen after working on a computer all day. Truth is I have the hardest time to follow through on ANYTHING. I've been on meds since 1989, depressed for a long time before then, has several episodes off work and generally manage to get through my day with just about nothing left for me in the way of energy or ability to even think in the everning. Anyway, I know I need to learn how to help myself so I am going to begin again this week.
