Hello Kim,

Congratulations on the pregnancy and thanks for sharing your experiences with hypnosis with us. And hey, if it helped with the pregnancy I don't see why it couldn't help with the depression! Keep us posted!

I have not even finished session one yet but am really thinking of using hypnosis for some of the depression healing as it gets into your subconscious and replaced the old with new. Fascinating. I am currently expecting my 4th child and after many many complications prior to this pregnancy we just assumed I would have more negative experiences. So I have been using hypnosis to help replace all my bad thoughts around pregnancy and birth and so far we have had no complications. We were also able to find out why my body had the complications it had and were able to work on that. The great part is that because some of it is so emotionally hard ad painful my hypnotherapist asked my subconscious to work on things well I was asleep and dreaming as that is 1) where the gate keeper of our thoughts and beliefs are and 2) the gateway opens while asleep and 3) it is not so hard to handle then.

Hi Gigi,   It is highly recommended that you work through the Tools in the program so it great to see that you are in Session 1.   Core beliefs will be discussed in Session 8 and you will get the opportunity to identify and examine your core beliefs. Many members have posted excellent definitions and perspectives on what core beliefs are. Negative core beliefs can be the result of a negative life event and remain in our subconscious for a very long time. You have identified a negative core belief which is that you feel like a failure for quite some time now. Can you identify any negative stresses or life events that happened in your life 10 years ago?   Core beliefs are learned.  They are the result of assumptions and determine how we see ourselves, others and the world.   Work through the program as you are. You will address your negative core beliefs and learn to modify your negative thought patterns.   Good luck and let us know how you are doing!   Faryal

I'm only on session 1.
Will I get to a session that will fix this core belief?
Or is that something that will just come as I go?

At first I didn't understand what a core belief is...but now, after reading some earlier posts, I think I've got it.

My core belief is one...but it covers all the negative    "I'm a failure."

I've only been a failure for the last ... 10 years or so. Before that, I was alright, I think.

I don't see how I can look in the mirror and tell myself that I am NOT a failure, when, at heart, I know I am.
Why lie to myself?

I want to want to.   I want to care.   I want to  live.   Not simply exist.

The funny thing is I don't really mind too much.  Because as Sheba says, it has forced me to be really conscious of what I am doing, to pay attention and no be so rushed that I am on autopilot.  So there's an upside to it as well.  Slowing down and watching what's really happening, what I am really doing is the key (no pun intended).  If I have to walk back and check the car, it also reminds me to check myself because I am rushing too much or too preoccupied.  It gives me hope that some of my other unconscious habits could be improved with the same kind of awareness.

These small things may seem like a pain but we all have our quirks.  This is what makes us unique.  Try being confident and trust your judgement as hard as it may seem at times.     Sylvie, Bilingual Health Educator

My problem is locking the car.  I usually have to make two trips anywhere as I have to backtrack to double check the car is locked, which it always is, but I did it unconsciously, so I can't be certain.  It's terrible when I've had to take a trip somewhere and spend the whole time going "did I lock the car...?"

yeah the same problem with locking the door.... then I started thinking that was an automatic thing and that I should trust myself on this. Now I'm just trying to concentrate on the action itself so I'm sure that I locked the door. It seems to be working.
