Members,

The amount of research on genetics and their relationship to depression continues to grow. In the past, researchers have linked serotonin levels to depression and currently researchers are beginning to explore the link between one's environment and genetics, and how this relates to levels of depression in individuals.

A quick review of the study can be found through the Official Journal of the Society of Biological Psychiatry. http://www.journals.elsevierhealth.com/periodicals/bps/article/S0006-3223(05)01013-9/abstract

The influence of the environment and our biological make-up is a long debated topic of interest. Members, what are your thoughts on this topic? If you think about your own experiences, how did your environment influence your well-being? Please share your thoughts!
