Okay, the Neil Diamond concert by myself story. Short version, went, sat down, struck up a conversation with the elderly gentleman next to me. He had retired several years earlier from a Rehab Facility with which I was familiar. Shortly into the conversation, two women approached to occupy the seats next to him. He introduced me to them as his wife and sister-in-law. I greeted them cordially. We sat quiet for only a moment, she his wife leaned across me and patted my leg. She said with such animation, "I'm a butt woman myself". I said, "excuse me". She is getting more and more animated as she is speaking. She said, "I'm a butt woman, in a minute that stage is going to rise up, and Neil will be standing there and the stage will rotate and he'll be facing the opposite side of us....and I will see his butt".
It was all I could do to contain myself. I probably would have never had that experience had I gone with someone to that concert. That is a priceless memory!
Btw, the stage did rise up and it did rotate and she got her wish. I got to hear some of my favorite songs. Although everytime the stage rotated and we saw, shall we say the backside, I had to chuckle. We could have reached out and touched him (lol, but when the stage rotated, he was too far away for her to reach).
Just had to tell the story - predepression days!
I like U2, Van Halen, love music! lol, love the butt woman too. (I might not should have shared that story on here). Mods can delete if need be.
