I guess by keeping my mind on what Gail needs. When i focus on the needs and even wants of someone i really care about, it makes me focus on me and my depression less. She is going through a lot as we speak, so she really needs me.

That is great jameyrae! Dressing up as something jolly will definitely put a smile on your face and the face of others around you. Perhaps you could dress up as Santa Claus more often!

How will you keep these positive feelings from the weekend going?

I dressed up as Santa Claus for Halloween. I was such a hit! that took care of any depression i had at all, because i love attention. I'm glad i chose that costume- and next year? probably the same thing!

As a Kid I loved halloween!
My dad would dress up in silly costume and take me and my brother to trick or treat! It was great. The fall air, the walk with my family, of course, the candies! I loved the costumes and the pretending to be a fairy or a princess! Then again, it didn't take Halloween for me to dress up back then lol...I have always loved dressing up. Then coming home to my mom rosy cheeked and excited and going through the candies and decididing what I could eat now and what would go in the cuby for well slow candy distribution from my mom. And all the great decorations and the neighboors teenager who dressed up as a mummy to startle us near the door lol. I have great memories of halloween. Next year, I think I will decorate and put on a cosatume and buy all the best kinda candy and hope some kids come around. Not many kids around here that I could see. No parties that I could hear. I kinda miss halloween like it was when I was a kid. Ah fond memories of fall!

Well, over here in the UK, Halloween is just an excuse for young children to go round knocking on doors begging for sweets and money, and vandalising their property when they don't. They are often out unsupervised with no adults, harrassing people on their own doorsteps. And would I let my kids go out in the dark knocking on strangers' doors? Not b****dy likely!

I refuse to answer my door on Halloween.

Oh, and for adults it's an excuse to wear ridiculous rubber masks and get even more obnoxiously, loudly, moronically drunk than they usually do...which on a Saturday night in London is quite an achievement.

Yeah, I'm not big on Halloween. Maybe it's different in the U.S.

Halloween can be a fun time of year!

Avoid temptations and obstacles!

Believe it or not this day can be a trigger for some!  So get out your mechanisms, keep busy and have fun.  Decorate your house, take the kids out and have a great night!
