Yes.   This does help.    I have written it down and will be taking it when I see my doctor next.   Thanks, Son.

Hi Rebbie,
To my knowledge Cipralex is a brand name here in Canada. It is my understanding that Cipralex and Lexapro are equivalent. Cipralex is a little white pill, shaped like a oval. Both Cipralex and Lexapro are listed as Escitalopram.

Hope this helps!

Hi Son,

Welcome!

By the way, you weren't rambling and it was great to read your post :)

I'm on Pristiq, working the program here, and just last week, hired a therapist to help me dig a little deeper.  What a huge difference in just one session!  So, I'm a fan of the therapy thing.  You'd be suprised at how much you do probably have to say, and how fast the hour flies by.  These strangers are trained too to help you explore yourself so there's probably not too much danger that you'll have nothing to say.  My two cents anyway.

It's always nice to see new people so I hope you find this site helpful and I hope you stick around.  Keep posting.

Hi, Son.   Welcome to this sight.    A new name and post is always welcomed here.

It's so great that you've felt a big difference since taking medication for your condition.    I noticed that you're taking Cipralex and put Lexapro in parens.    Is there a generic form of Lexapro on the market in Canada?     I have been prescribed Lexapro twice.   The first time I responded very well to it, but my insurance company contacted me and wanted me to switch to an anti-depressant of their choice because of the cost.    I did so, and fell into a very bad period of depression.   Just recently my doctor re-prescribed Lexapro, and after 2 weeks I'm seeing a difference in my mood.    Can you tell me anything about Cipralex?

If you're so inclined, you should work the program on this website.   It's so helpful and you've got a ton of members to encourage you along and give you tips and pointers when you need it.

Once again, welcome aboard.   I hope to see you post again soon!

Hi Everyone. Here is a little bit of information about me.
I am 20 years old. I am currently a full-time student at univeristy. I live with my parents, and have a brother who is 14. I have had depression for as long as i can remember. About 2 years ago i finally told my family doctor how i have been feeling. He prescribed me Cipralex (Lexapro) 20mg, and Wellbutrin XL 300 mg, daily. When i first started taking the medication i was quite skeptical that it would make a difference. But slowly i started to feel a little bit different: less irritable and a little more social. My family members could not believe how different i was. Since then, i have been feeling more stable, but i still struggle with my depression. It seems that i just cannot shake it. I keep contemplating therapy, but i just do not know what i would say to a stranger; to somebody i do not know-- how would i explain myself and my problems to somebody i have never met?

On another note, i have a read a few of the other posts, and am happy to hear other people's feelings about depression and how it affects them. Sometimes i wonder if it just is me. I have a lot of doubts about myself.

This probably is not the best introduction i could have made-- or best impression i could have made to all of you. But this is all i can come up with right now. I am in bed- feeling restless, and came across this page. I Thought i would put in my two cents. If you end up reading to the end of this paragraph- thanks for listening (rather-- taking the time to read my rambling sentences.) I wish everyone good health, and content days.
xo
