Good for you for recognizing what works. The more resources you have the better when it comes to managing Depression. Be sure to follow your doctors advice when it comes to medication.
How do you plan on keeping motivated to stick with the program? Have you created a schedule for yourself regarding when you plan to work on the program? The program is a lot of work and it can be overwhelming but when broken down it can be very manageable. Be sure to reward yourself for each Session you complete.
Also, posting in the support group is also a great way to stay motivated. Be sure to post often.
It's been quite some time since I've been here. I went through the program quickly, while being on Zoloft for some time. Things got better... medical insurance changed, and I went off of the meds. I was doing well for just over a year, but here I am again. Depressive symptoms came back, although not quite as bad. I'm a little quicker at recognizing the spiral for what it is. Looking back I know that CBT (the little bit that I stuck around for) was - for me - more successful then the medication. I've decided that I need to follow the program and do the homework; to put forth the effort as suggested by the administrators of this site. I'm thinking I'll forgo the meds and office therapy. I reserve the right to change my mind on that, but I'd rather see how I progress with the CBT as I'm not in such a critical state as I was last go-around.
