Welcome Benny,

I am sorry you are feeling this way. As I was reading the feeling of being overwhelmed seemed to be present.  Not a good feeling but you have come to the right place. We will support you through this. First of all, I agree with ~m, check out the Panic Center. Generally we recommend focusing on one program at a time as otherwise the homework can get overwhelming.  Some people decide to address the anxiety first as they feel the anxiety holds them back from fully being present to activities in the Depression Program. However, you decide what is best for you.

In regards to set backs, they are common and actually part of the learning process. They are certainly not a failure they just point out an area where learning has to take place. What triggered the set back? How could you manage this trigger in the future? What have you learned from past set backs that you can apply now?

If you are stuck with the above questions that is ok. The program and support group will help arm you with the information and motivation you need to tackle this.  Remember this is a process, it will take time and hard work but you are not alone in this and you WILL get through this.

What is your first goal? Where are you going to focus your attention this week?

These are good questions Ashley.  Just as appropriate today as when first posed.  At this point I am so overcome with fear and sorrow that I can't even begin to move my thoughts toward setting goals.  Getting through the day is kind of a lame goal.  One I'm tired of pursuing.  It all feels pretty pointless.

Hi Amy... welcome to this site.  Thank you for taking the time and effort to post even when you are feeling badly.   While depression and anxiety can be two sides of the same coin... there are similar but different approaches for treating each.  Since it sounds like anxiety is your biggest concern right now you might want to check out the sister Panic Center site. (Click on HELP at the top of the page and then click on OTHER PROGRAMS it will lead you to a list of all sister sites...scroll down to find the Panic Center, click and you are in).  There you will find many active members who have been in the situation you describe... especially as it relates to work environment.  I learned a great deal from over there before coming back here to address the depression.  You are most welcome here too... but I think you might find more immediate help over there.  Just a thought.  Again, thanks for posting!

Hi all
I suffer from severe anxiety, panic, and a relape of MDD. I am in a TERRIBLE work environmen right now that is exasperating and worsening my symptoms.
I had successfully gone 6 months medication free (no atavan) for anxiety, and over 9 months off of Pristiq.
With things getting worse, I have a major fear that I am going to fall back where I was 12 months ago - which was completely dysfunctional and off work.
I am really trying to cope through natural means, but the anxiety got too bad and I had to introduce atavan again.
Has anyone else experienced a set back? How did you get yourself through it without the negative thoughts of failure and fear of the past repeating itself taking over?
Any advice and or success stories would be really inspirational.
Thanks
A
