Welcome Sunshine, Momwife, & Tinkerbelle,

I'm so glad you stopped by to join in the conversation and share a little about what brings you here.  I think you will find a lot of support and understanding in the forums as we are all struggling with similar hardships sometimes brought on by depression and sometimes causing depression.  In the middle, it is hard to know which comes first.

I've worked through a lot of my own "issues" here on the DC.  The program itself has a nice structure that helps me get back on track, taking some control of my life and my attitude.  Since you all mentioned having done some helpful work before, I think you will do well with this program too.

Have you begun doing some of the reading and mood tracking...? it is hard to get started, but very important that we do.  I'm back for a tune up, but have been slow to start my reading and homework. Maybe we can keep each other on track?

If you are patient and willing to do the work required, you will likely begin feeling better within the first few weeks and can see a measurable difference by the end of the first month.  Not such a long time to spend in the effort to refind ourselves... ya think?

It is hard when you feel, like I do, that part of you is lost, and you need to find who you are again. When life is tough then it really is hard not to be depressed. Especially your health.
Good news is that with some hard work that negative talk in your head can end, or at least be under control, I have work on this in the past and won that battle for a while a least. I think it will always be something I have to manage.

Hi I'm a married 40 something with an 18 year old son and a disabled husband. Up until 2012 I worked full time in Retail management. In Jan 2012 I was diagnosed with persistent Atrial Fibrillation and I haven't worked since. My depression began again mid 2012 although I have suffered with depression on and off most of my adult life, previously I have been able to have medication to help, but not now. I feel I have lost control of my life, my health, my weight, ME! I have recently finished a 10 week course of counselling through my doctor but that only helped me identify some triggers to my anger and realise that I am my own worst critic. I do feel I have a long way to go, and I am hoping this will help my find the old me again.

Well let's give this a try. I am a mom of a 19 month old beautiful boy. I am here because in the last three years my husband returned from school abroad, we got pregnant, had a rough pregnancy and traumatic birth of my boy, found out that I should not have more kids, had an incident of domestic violence, seperated, therapy, reconcilation, working on my marriage, post partum depression. Now I am back at work, marriage is going well, my son is great. I feel like crap, don't want to do anything to take care of myself. I need motivation, happiness again. That was alot to spill out!
