Hi everyone and thankyou so much again for your marvellous support!!! I really am feeling so much happier today :) I had a terrible night and all day I could think of nothing except my boyfriend enjoying his cigarettes :( And then when he got in from work he asked me what was wrong and I told him, and he told me he has stopped smoking again. And when I asked why, do you know what he said???? "because it's horrible and I hate it" All that time I was jealous of him and he was feeling miserable!!! So now I feel much stronger and I don't even feel bitter of him, I feel sorry for him going through those first few hours again, and that he felt he had to lie to me as he felt ashamed. Thanks for all your wonderful advice as well - I feel heaps and heaps better and I will definitely come back here to the site if I ever feel like smoking because you lot always remind me what a stupid idea it would be... Love and peace to you all... Hi Celia Just wanted you to know that you are not alone in these thoughts. I have been struggling this weekend too with thoughts of starting again. I am feeling resentful of my husband not having quit. He is indulging, yet I cannot. I know they are stupid thoughts and I have gone through all the lines in my head that I should be saying in order to stay strong, but the stupid thoughts are still there. I am telling myself that I need to feel sorry for him because he is still smoking. Don't glamorize it. Don't let his reasons for smoking be your reasons for giving up your quit. You've come to far. Lets do it together! It's a choice! Celia.....Good Sunday morning to you. You sound really confused about who you are and where you are going. You are a non smoker and you are also a person who has shown courage and determination in the past; why are you willing to give that up?
So i have been having the stupid idea that once i have quit for a year i will start again. Just so i can say to people, "Well, i tried being a non-smoker for a whole year and was miserable so i started again"
Stand back and re-read that. What are you thinking? Are you thinking it is ok to kill myself because my boyfriend is stressed and has gone back to smoking at work and now you are giving him permission to bring it back into the house where you are again exposed to cigarette smoke. I can only recommend that you just take five, stand back and take a strong look at yourself. If you like what you see protect it with all your abilities and all of your courage. This will get edited I'm sure but screw your boyfirends weakness. If he chooses to smoke at work, that's his business but keep it out of your home and well away from you. I hope you can work things out. You have come to far down the road to freedom to just quit and give it all up. Duffis

Celia, 228 days of being smoke-free! That is awesome :). Quitting smoking is a long process Celia. Just think of how far you have come! Do you really want to start up again only to see that you do not want to smoke? Then, you would have to go through the first step all over again! Do not get discouraged! You are a successful quitter and only you understand how much your life has improved over the last 228 days! If you need the encouragement join us on a daily basis to get you through this phase of your quit. We all understand the process of quitting smoking Celia. Within our support group there is always a member that can relate to you how you are feeling at this time. Do not let your "new country" discourage you! You have a new beginning where you have moved to. The past is the past! It is time to move forward! You can do this! Keep in touch :) Melanie ______________________________ The SSC Support Team
